This movie is incredible. It really pulls you in. It really questions humanity and what would we do in this situation. It visually stunning. 10/10 I love it.

I like how they end up in the motherland. Where it all began. To symbolize a true new beginning. I've also long thought something horrible is going to happen with Yellowstone which does have a super volcano underneath it.
totally loved this movie, I got the chance to watch this at a friends house on a big screen tv and let me tell you what, it was awesome! The graphics were actually quite believable and awe inspiring I was seriously at the edge of my seat with this one, which i believe totally makes a movie that much better.Although it might be true

that the government would do something like they did but i seriously like to believe in the greater good of people but the ships? thats a lil strange
Long but very knowledgeable. Lot's of action, drama. Cast pulled it off. Overall 3.5 out of 5 stars for me. Very interesting movie. I need to Research this make sure and hope it isn't happening for real.
it was kinda cheezy at the beginning - w/an overload of special f/x - but the story was compelling and actually got better b/c the stakes were so high - you care about the human lives and the monumental challenges they face -
this brings to mind pandora's box-- it was opened and there was chaos but when the chaos ceased there was peace.
i think this movie is NOT about death and destruction but about reconstruction and new beginnings: you gotta go thru it to get to it. and yes, hollywood does and always has capitalized on current affairs, but i don't EVER think i've seen a movie [yet] about global apocalytic doom that ended in total human annihilation - there was always a kernel of humanity left to begin-again.
that is our challenge to see the silver lining in hopelessness and step out on newly fertile ground!
Another blockbuster movie,, will have you amazed at the special effects!!, and question yourself where we are ,, who we are ,, and what we should do ??
ps i just watched the hubble space telescope documentary,, ? watch both soon !! be scared like me LOL
absolute quality of the highest order ,sheer breathtaking spectacular genius of a movie .this is a must watch proberly the best disaster film ever made or ever likely to be made .
The only to sum up this movie is disaster porn, yes that's right and it's hardcore. I never thought that, from a technical point (CGI), that a movie would come along and absolutely trump the sheer destruction I strongly remember from Independence Day, all those years ago. Some have tried and most have failed, but 2012 is just.., that's how good it is, I can't find any words to express it, you just have to watch it to understand what I mean.
Something else that also made me happy was the amount of symbolism, I mean the whole 16th chapel thing, the Jesus statue thing and also the thing about Africa was also very amusing.
Really good film kept me engaged all the way through! Still has it's unrealistic moments

Like the guy just happening to be training as a pilot and just happen to crash land in china and get found straight away. To much of there journey was down to luck.
However understandable for cinematic quality, real good disaster film up there with the rest. Lets just hope its a story we leave in hollywood..
this movie reminds me some of the past movies i saw like waterworld, and the day after tomorrow i dont know why but thi effects r crepy in a way that i didnt wanna live my set ntill i the end of the movie,, love this movie one of my favorites from now on..
