After parts one and two the censors decided the slashing element was too hard core and replaced it with stabbing.(what??)
Sure you still see the slashing motion but you don't see the contact.
Kind of expels the ultimate "slasher" movie from the genre altogether.

I love the nightmare movies. The whole idea of Freddy Krueger is so unique - I wish they'd make more, before Robert Englund isn't around anymore. Nobody but him could play Freddy!
Probably my least favourite in the series.This one was quite far fetched, with some rather awkward moments.
On a good note, the dark comedy element allowed for some of the most creative and amusing death scenes yet. Plus, I've always felt that Freddy's whole attitude was hilarious anyway, so this only enhances that feeling.
It's not the best, but I still love it. And at least Freddy still hasn't been in a spaceship in the year 2455, like another famous killer I know of..;)
Yep, I still love my "least favourite". That's how big of a Freddy fan I really am. 4/5 stars.
because "new nightmare" is like her not playing Nancy but playing herself in the movie. they wanted to make another nightmare and she was reading the new script in "new nightmare"
Everyone is entitled to their opinion..but to me Freddy Kreuger is the best horror villain of ALL TIME!! Jason was good..but it was the same thing everytime!! Dumb teens that did all the wrong things at the wrong times and ended up massacred!! With Freddy..he got you in your dreams!! No escape and on that realm he could do whatever he wanted to. I grew up on Freddy and I remember being a little kid having nightmares that scared the..outta me yet I still couldn't get enough. A lot of people have their preferences of which Freddy movies are good and which ones are not, but I love them all! With Jason I really only liked the one on the boat. I love the 5th Nightmare most because the deaths are so creative. Its gonna be strange seeing the new remake without Robert Englund because to me he IS freddy, but i'm sure i'll still love it!! I'm a huge horror fan and in my opinion, Freddy is the BEST!! :-)
OMGIZZLES YES!! IT'S LIKE SOME DERANGED BATMAN VILLAIN HAD A BASTARD CHILD WITH EDWARD SCISSORHANDS!! lolz,me and my friend made that up last night when we watched the second one. I hope they remake it good because I like it the way it is so much, the only thing I would rreally change is the sound effects, they ar ea little 8-bit but that's what is was like back then,.
love this movie i grew up on freddy i got scared i couldnt sleep for a week thought i would die in my sleep lol!! freedy is the man love that man he turn anything into a comedy 10/10
freddy's cool, but he hasn't got a chance against jason! this was pretty good, just like the other elm streets, but i like the friday-movies more.. 3/5
The friday movies were always the same thing though, jason goes after teenagers when they are doing bad things. Freddy is unpredictable as when and how he attacks. I love his claw thing too,how he screeches the knives like nails on a chalkboard. He gets corny in his final movie though.
I LIKED THIS MOVIE.. I REALLY DID. I THINK IT IS ALMOST AS GOOD AS THE FIRST ONE, AND WAY BETTER THAN THE SECOND ONE.. BESIDES IN THIS MOVIE FREDDY'S ATTITUDE IS JUST HILARIOUSLY AWESOME:

not the greatest film ever made but it is Freddy. i grew up with him tucking me inot bed at night since i was like 3ish (yeh i know bad parents) but it was a great thing. the movie is great for a few reasons. 1st freddy is a funny funny man if u watch how he does some of the kills and listen to his little quips it is quite amusing. 2ndly , hey least people are fighting back now, (sort of weak at it but trying). classic horror that everyone should show little kids. good times.
here it is again some one rated this movie low is well i just cant believe it this film is cult classic for nightmare on elm street fans like me the best part out of all is this one it actualy carries on where first one is left of acting is the best here out of all the series action and the effects are the best is well watch it i loved it
It was a decent movie. Decent acting, decent story, decent effects and decent horror. This was still when Freddy wasn't really a joke YET with all the dark humor and stuff, when he was kinda just a maniac to be feared still. Overall 4/5 for this one.
