I give it 5 1/2 out of 10. Good for a one-time watch at most. There are some lessons here, but it's pretty slow and laid back a lot of the time, like an "oldie" which not all young people have patience for.
This movie is fantastic and reminiscent of The People Vs Larry Flynt. Its a little slow at parts and well..courtney love is in it..but i would definatly recommend it.

not a fan of sean penn.. he's acting is generic and overrated.
after 20 mins of watching, i couldnt take it anymore.. nothing special about this movie.

Being from New Orleans myself I love watching movies based in N.O. This was a great movie. Louisiana has such great history and the City of Jazz has a lot of interesting history itself. The only thing I have a problem with is when producers make a movie in Louisiana expecially N.O. I just wish they would actually come and talk to the people of the city. We don't talk like that. We don't have that slow southern drawl that they think we do. There is nothing wrong with the drawl but people of New Orleans don't have it sorry producers your are wrong. Sorry guys just sounding off. This movie is well worth the watch. 5 stars from me.
I think he is one of the most under rated actors out there. I have been impressed with him for years and he never fails to further impress me. This movie had drama, sex, good acting and was pretty much, all around, a darn good movie. I would recommend it at least once.
Sean Penn is the highlight of this film. The old classic was really good, but I think this was better. It had good drama and it showed lots of detailed feelings of Mr. Stark.
