Wow what a disappointment! I was watching this with friends and we were all excited to see Justin act and shirtless and all that, but I actually wanted to kick him in the teeth to get some sense into his big head!
I was waiting for something to happen. A great action scene, a good dialogue, many some reason for their actions..but NOHWW

& to think Justin was overshadowed and a back up singer? This film was well directed, well acted, and owes me a box of tissues. That Nicholas Markowitz boy? Had all that naievety in the midst of those pigs! Dear lord, I left during the last moments of the film, I couldn't watch. Johnny is a Los Angeles drug dealer. He comes from a good family, owns his home, several cars and enjoys partying with his friends. Johnny is 19. When his friend Jake welches on a debt, Johnny and his boys kidnap Jake's 15-year-old brother Butch and hold him as a marker. Even though Butch has numerous chances to escape, he doesn't. He's enjoying partying with them, losing his virginity and having a good time - until something goes horribly wrong.
Geez, can you boys & girls say "pathetic wannabes?" Is this what the burbs has descended to? Wow! I'm sorry, but from where I sit in Detroit this is a tale of some lame wanksters.
On the other hand; Timberlake wasn't bad, was he? The acting was cool, the story was tight enough and the film had decent production values. Definitely watchable.
One of my favorite movies. Its very funny but yet extremely sad and then once you find out its a true story.. good lord. My heart goes out to the family & friends of the victim. I just found out Jonny Truelove AKA Jesse James Hollywood was tried and convicted of first degree murder & kidnapping and he will most likely receive the death penalty. Good! I hope that goof rots in hell. And just think.. it was all over $1200. Disgusting. Anyways, RIP little man i know you were cheated out of your life and we'll never forget you.. atleast you got to party hard and meet a beautiful girl before it all happened heh. This was an excellent movie. I watched it when it first came out at the theatre and was floored. I also wasnt expecting JT to pull off anything other than a musical pop star icon that went to film, but was very pleased with his performance. He did a great job and it really opened me up to his acting ability.

Why is this movie called Alpha Dog? I don't get it..that being said I really liked the movie. What a bunch of scum bags they really deserved every bit of punishment they got in the end and then some.

kids with too much money have too much time and end up less likely culminating into a productive society.

Ok word to the wise if you're going to watch this with younger teenagers DONT it may be a 15 certificate but to be honest it really should be 18, Pretty much every line in this film has a swear word or curse of somekind, there are minor sex scenes, strong drug references and abuse.. plus its violent. Now that's outta the way i can truthfully say in all honesty i never expected this to be any good as it has a singer acting (Justin Timberlake) but unlike beyonce, LL cool J, and other artists attempts to act Justin done his role superbly and was really beleivable. This is a good example of everyday conflicts that can escalate and get out of hand for everyone involved. Gripping powerful stuff that will have you hooked from the first half hour. reccomended :) **10/10**
Stupid .., 2 think they wasn't going to get caught. If this movie was base on a true story. Then they were some stupid drug dealer, and a coward will do anything 2 be dwn. A coward murder that little boy. All of them wanted to be gangsters. Rich little kids trying to be hood. Good movie, dont get me wrong. I hate to see rich kids trying to live the life of GOONS. Aside from all the graphituity of the film. It is very good. Emile Hirsch is one of my favorite new actors. (If you haven't seen "Into the Wild" do it as soon as you can) And he is good too. But Justin Timberlake really shines as does Anton Yelchin. Great film. Great performances and sad ending
the only reason this movie is good/sad is because it's based on true events.
most of the cast didn't fit the parts they played, but i picking like that. 3/5
good watch, surprised i never heard of this film. although i did watch a similar film aboutthis same true life story, the name of which escapes me. even though it was made that the culprits were so nice and sincere and everyone else was an animal i thought it was well played out. worth a watch, especially if you like tattoos, i think there was only 1 person who didnt have one.
Disturbing as to what is happening to the youth of this country when they are spoiled, get out of control and get into drugs. Like Father like son. Don't do the crime of you can't do the time.

I haven't yet watched this movie cause, both Jesse's that were a part of this were friends of mine in HS. I remember hearing about this from another mutual friend who knew everything..even as it was happening. I didn't know the kid who got killed or his brother but..screw it, pressing play. Let y'all know what I think afterwards
I did not expect this movie to be that good at all.. my girlfriend convinced me to see it and I'm glad I did even JT with all his fake tattoos was a pretty good actor in this
