Wel i did cry quite a few time through this in places..it really hits home..an emotional drama. Thought it was very good and very sad..made for tv drama i think so i rate it 9/10 Good acting.
This movie really hit home with me, remembering when I took a two week leave before going overseas. So many thoughtsrace through you mind because you try to connect the civilian world(family, friends, realtives..etc.) with what you just experienced in Basic Training. It all seemed surreal but once overseas, reality hit and I "had to do my job." Kudos to all the service men and women protecing our liberties. God bless them.
I thought the movie was awesome it had all the eliminates of a good, serious,intense movie. Nick Cannon was excellent in this movie as was the rest of the actors. Nick made you feel what he was going through and it was heavy and believable
Okay so it's a serious drama with depth, is it just too close to home for alot of people to watch and hence the low rating? It was superb acting, wonderful depth, meaningful and real. I have a only one precious son myself, and even though he isn't in the armed forces or going far away from home (yet), he is 17 going on 21 and flying the nest and facing those private issues that young men face & choose to face alone, without sharing with their parents, the ones who care the most. I can empathise with the mum and she had to hold on to hope and faith for her son's future, take a back step and allow him to make bold decisions for his own life, a really tough thing to do! Just a really meaningful, moving movie. I liked it alot, but make sure you have some tissues ready in some stages, if your floodgates decide to open like mine did in places.
I thought the ending was well done and fit the story line. A young man goes off to war, not with a Rambo attitude but with perhaps some doubts yet knowing he has a job to do.
this movie shows just how mature nick cannon is really becoming as a movie star. this is by far the best role he has ever played. very interesting movie keeps you wanting to watch it.
Nice drama dealing with issues that alot of soldiers have to deal with.thought provoking and well made.the latino chick was hot.i would have fled to mexico with her.7/10
its very much a melodrama ..its slow in places and sometimes it fails to hit its emotional targets ..not the worse i have seen but not the best either ..worth a watch
I liked the movie..well the story atleast. Once again Nick Cannon fails to connect with me in another movie..though i do see where they were trying to go with it. Some times the truth is easier to say when it carried from your mouth to anothers ear from a friend. I mean lets be honest thats the only reason people tell things, cause they want "someone" to know, but i always say if you dont want anyone to know anything then tell no one (telling one person can be tell 100). Lets see wat else..Family is important no matter how screwed they may seem. 5/10 May the lord watch over everyone over seas.
A sad movie that documents the psychosis of many American lives and what leads to participation in war - man's inhumanity to man. Many will take from this movie a message that condones military service and I believe that is its intention. Many will simply not watch this movie, as they are disgusted by its precepts. I suppose the propaganda of movie makers will always fuel the war machine. Nothing ever really changes, does it. Mankind is destined to repeat its mistakes.
I don't think the message is one of condoning military service but what it does to individuals in the military prior to going into battle(Not always a Rambo attitude) and the effects on family and friends.
