I didn't like the ending, but I thought the main part of the film was good. There's action, noir and darkness, romance, drama and emotion. And more action. For me this deserves not less than 8/10.
BTW the slow scenes were deliberate, to contribute to the sense of finality and darkness.
Well, i bought this movie on DvD i don't know why i just saw it and grabbed it. I just watched it about an hour ago, and man.. I'm pretty sure i've seen this movie a thousand times.. I'm a longtime movie goer meaning i've seen alot of films, and wow was this film very unoriginal! Correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't this a remake? I'm not sure, but anyways you get my point. I can name a dozen films with the same exact plot. 2/5
This film tried to show the scenes of Bangkok! The whole killing was based about the backgrounds or the scenes! Nice action, nice style but I totally agree with most of the people here, THE ENDING REALLY WAS UNTIMELY! Something is not shown!

Terrible movie. Although I generally like Cage and his movies this was just bad. There's no excuse for him picking up this kind of script for the kind of actor he is. The ending was a crap job. Screenplay was poorly drawn up.

The movie was trying to communicate the message that what he was doing was bad/wrong with all those dark flashbacks but he was still killing people like nobody's business as long as his sidekick Thai kid said they were 'bad' guys. I mean give me a break nobody is a completely good guy in the real world-this was a pathetic justification to send people gruesomely to their deaths.
Nicolas Cage was just not likeable in this film

because his role was meant to show him moving away from his job but he ends up purposely killing not just a ton of bad guys but himself too when he could have just walked away? uggghhh
I give this movie, about three and half stars, simplely because I like lead character and his narrative style movies. No matter how many movie Nicholas Cage makes in this form I am sucker for them. Don't know if I'll buy or watch this movie again but I am pleased I watch it. I notice he looking older now
(that saddens me..), but still a believable in his role here, worth the dime to watch and enjoy.
I had such high expectations for this movie knowing that Nick Cage was starring in it. So me and my boyfriend were really excited to watch this movie. Boy was I disappointed. I love just about every movie that Cage has ever done, but this one was horrible.
For one, the concept has been done a billion times before;

hitman is bad to the bone, he falls in love with a great girl, he ends up being the target and if it hadn't been for the love he had for the girl, he'd have lived.
Blah blah. It's old.
And two, the ending was HORRIBLE.
Anyway, we give this movie a 2.5. (1-5 stars) Obviously Nick was a great actor in it and played his role very well. But hey, I'll still check out any future Cage movies that come out. :)
