Batman and James Gordon join forces with Gotham's new District Attorney, Harvey Dent, to take on a psychotic bank robber known as The Joker, whilst other forces plot against them, and Joker's crimes grow more and more deadly.
Definitely not good as Batman Begins but due to the villian its on par. The Joker looks like a plain joker but has a mastermind. Like the Saw's Jigsaw Murderer! Nice plot,awesome effects, cool bike! Thats batman alright! Was a bit confusing at the end, but I enjoyed watching it. Looks like Morgan Freeman wont be if another one will be made!
As a fan of Batman movies, all i can say is that this movie was the greatest and will remain a classic for many years to come due to the performance of Heath Ledger. The role of Joker has been played before but Heath Ledger has immortalized this character with his brilliant performance. His intensity and face expressions were something of a master piece and the way he delivered his dialogues was something that should be studied carefully by all the future villains. There can be no Joker like Heath Ledger, he will remain one of the greatest of all. Hats off to Heath Ledger. 10/10
I don't believe this movie is nearly as good as it was hyped up to be. Mind you, I've seen all the batman movies lots of times and this is definitely one of the best. I just didn't find this movie to be as "amazing" as people said it was. Christian Bale just annoys me with his chain-smoker batman voice; I never really cared for him from the start but, hey, we all have our opinions.
As far as Ledger goes, well, I think he did a fantastic job on his part. But, where as Ledger played a more cold-blooded anarchist type of Joker, I found his personality to not be nearly as interesting as the Nicholson Joker. Some people would have me burned at the stake for saying that but, Ledger's portrayal of the Joker never had the "creepiness" that Nicholson showed. Where as Ledger showed a more cruel, ruthless Joker, you could tell that Nicholson's version definitely had more screws loose.
In my opinion best film ever Heath ledgers performance was outstanding and there will be no other actor who will be able to replace him as the joker and execute the performance with such perfection. Plot was brilliant overall rating..10/10.

i hate batman but everyone kept one telling me to watch it anyway.i have to say it was pretty good so for any batman fan this movie is for you if not but you like action movie then this is worth the watch.

I like this film even though it wouldn't be the sort of thing that i'd normally watch, tis a long film but worth the watch, seen it a few times and still struggle to understand the endin a bit.. R.I.P Heath Ledger .. bless..
Classic crime thriller. Unlike any superhero movie before it a true trendsetter and a seriously amazing final act for Heath Ledger that puts this epic over the top.
I completely understand Bale when he said he only work with a certain director when making the Batman films. Once you look back at how bad the Batman series started to become with Arnold as the Iceman and Val Kilmer..whom I like but Batman is not role.
But The Dark Knight is awesome movie and with Heath Ledger RIP the acting was superb and the action even better.
R.I.P. Heath Ledger you are truly missed he did such an amazing job in this its unreal Cristian Bale plays the ferfect batman role. Movies long like 3 hours but keeps you glued to your seat seeing what happens next Must watch
Heith Ledger portrayed the character of Joker too well. In fact, I felt that the Joker was a more stronger and fitting character than Christian Bale as Batman
this is the best super hero movie,i hav ever seen,it has all clear point to be super hero,not just fantasy,like spider or super or hulk,that smthing happened and he got awesome powers,so amazingly believable movie that you tottaly suck into their world with no other thoughts,u just see joker,bat man,gordon,two face,

He is an excellent actor.But you really cannot compere the Joker of today with the Joker of old.The first Batman(new) was supposed to be more cartoony and Jack Nickelson was great.This Batman is a darker version and Heath Ledger was great also.But they cannot be compared because they are both completly different movie types.
I have to say, I was really unsure how Heath Ledger would take on the role as "The Joker", but boy was I surprised. He did an awesome job and he made me a fan.
RIP, sad that he won't be around for a sequel!

Loved the film. A grown up version of Batman! Definately worth a watch with some cracking acting and a plot that keeps you tense, even if you think you can work it out for yourself as you watch along.. fun, but not for kids.
