one of my favorite war movies for real. to think that this really happened too, i have to tip my hat to our soldiers who lay there life on the line for us. a must see 5/5.

Has anybody ever played call of duty4 Modern warfare? If so, can someone tell me was the invasion sequence on the mission "Charlie don't surf" based on the invasion on this movie because there dead similar.
Dude I don't think you read what i said properly. I know this movie is based on real event's, I wouldn't say it is one of my fav movies ever if i didn't know this. Call of duty is a game and there a mission on it called "charlie don't surf" set in a middle eastern country and had the same concept as Black hawk down only in a slightly different way. And yes the game was made after the events of 1992-93..This is why I asked "was the invasion sequence on the mission "Charlie don't surf" based on the invasion on this movie because there dead similar". So I don't really see the resemblance to Apocalypse Now as that was based on the Vietnam war.
The greatest film of modern war ever made. But a truly tragic story. Near perfect on every single level.

Sequel? Seriously?! Soon after these events the Americans left Somalia because the Somalis didn't want to be helped. There you're sequel there. You wouldn't watch saving private Ryan and think WOW! There should be a sequel to that story! Would you now?
this is truely the best modern war movie so far. the story is nothing special but the actors, the acting, and the shlt load of modern war action makes this movie fu-(kin great.. A MUST WATCH

A very great movie, a must see. One of the best war movies i've seen. Great actors, awsome acting and very accurate to the real situation. I rate it 10/10 and highly recommend ppl watch this movie.
I highly recommend this to anyone it's a top notch war movie.Great acting and tons of action it's flawless to be honest.10/10 alright I could never do what our soldiers do they are truely remarkable and have my respect.
this is one of my all time favortie movies 95 percent of movies don't deserve a perfect score i can sit down and watch this anytime a must see eric bana is the perfect soldier in this. i give it 5/5
