i feel a little bitter my dad roped me into watching this. i cant blame him he was misinformed by someone telling him it was a very good interesting movie. i thought it was..disgusting would be the best word. i understand wanting to be realistic but some of the images were completely over the top.

for instance i dont feel they needed to have half of the people wandering around naked for the majority of the time spent in the hospital facility and also the rape type scenes were just overboard
all in all id give it..a 4? that may be generous but it was an interesting concept a blindness epidemic but overall not executed well in my opinion
Never have I watched a movie and went from mildly interested to mildy bored, then a little upset, to wow did the movie just end like that? There were plenty of things that happened starting in the middle of the movie that doesn't make any sense like

Why isn't the main character upset with her husband for cheating on her? She even gives the woman he slept with a hug and continues to talk, laugh, and later in the movie take a shower with the woman. Why would the main character allow the women prostitute themselves for food WHEN SHE IS THE ONLY PERSON WHO CAN SEE?? So they finally get free and instead of actually writing a ending to the movie they just decide to give the characters back their sight.
The ending was a huge let down and just made me really upset. I should have listened to the guy who commented before me and not wasted my time watching. 5/10 Started out ok and steadily declined into nothing.
good movie.. very depressing and realistic.. only thing I didn't care for was the ending, wish the movie would have went on for a bit longer and not have ended where it did.
Not too many movies actually make me angry. This one did. I cant stand it when they make main characters weak and stupid like they did with this. It was just ridiculous.
I thought it was a good movie but I agree that the main characters were very weak willed. I would have starting taking control of the situation long before they did.
this is a what if movie is to play with ones fears it actually does manage to just do that and in parts it makes you so angry how those with sickness gets treated only thing i did not like was the ending it is just too common happy endings and in reality that is not how the story will end watch it and decide for yourself
I thought this was an interesting portrayal of this story/idea. I don't believe the main characters were weak at all, I think they were thoughtful and cautious as intelligent people would be. Look at how they make out in the end compared to what is happening elsewhere. Knee jerk displays fueled by rage would not turn out so well and generally don't. I think that was part of the point of this movie. In crisis stop and think when/if possible it is for everyone's good including your own.
This movie was weird. it was a decent movie and it really makes you delve into the awful realization that a worldwide epidemic would still result in ruthless people. i was most dissapointed that

Overall it was decent except for the dead end. 6.5/10
This movie was probably one of the best ive "seen" in a LONG time!! It really makes you think about how people act. I was very impressed on this movie. defenately worth watching, 10/10!! I could watch this movie many times!! This movie is going to have me thinking for a long time!! Intense!!
it WAS a good movie. it had alot of aspects to it. it exceeded expectations. julianne moore is a very good actress. i felt their pain , and their joy. and there are parts that are very tough to watch , i.e. , how people were being treated.
it`s NOT for children to watch , what so ever. or even people who are emotional.
because , you may not be able to take certain situations. they are very graphic.
4.5 outta 5 stars. GOOD MOVIE. and in my opinion , it ended GOOD.
I wish you would expand your point, Pro311031. Your title 'hints' at some common truth, but your comment-title says A LOT more than your actual post. SURELY, you aren't only just trying to convince people to pick up the "audio-book".

When everything falls apart then and only then when we see the real about each person, and I promise you it won't be pretty, even in the Bible it says that there are none good but GOD. But most people always seem to skip that part of the Bible.
When the storm hit or southern states even people in our own government made decisions not to help the people, Donald Rumsfeld said that the military should not be sent into New Orleans, Louisiana, to help the people at all, he like that sad dude Brown during Bush's administration always chose the evil path. When the lights go out, and the supplies of food gets low most people will show that they are truly barbaric at the core.
The only way to not become like that is to know far more then them. But we have a major problem that most people have bought into the lie that there is a system in place to aid them when society falls apart, I am sorry to tell you that there is not. The government will try and shut everything down and to control everyone, just like they did in this movie, they wanted to contain the people that were first inflicted by white blindness
I do suggest everyone watch this because I as well as the majority of the posters thought it really shows you what some are! What would you be? I wasn't so big on the ending but it was a one time watch but I would say watch it, which character are you??
The book is much better but I still loved this movie! But wasn't the main characters much older. Like in there 60s or something. Anyways still really good. 9/10
I had to write that in all caps because a lot of people were complaining, and even I thought by the commercials that the movie would be interesting but just like some other sci fi thriller blah blah crap. lol. So I wasn't really excited to see it. WOW was I wrong. No wonder it was a book first. I thought this was very deep, and the blindness isn't the real theme of the movie, it didn't focus on the world being in chaos.

It focused on a relatively small group of people who are thrown into isolation, to fend and survive on their own in squalor with the sudden handicap of being blind. It focused on what we has humans would do to survive, and how we would act in a situation like that, how we would react to a situation like that.

I consider myself a fair rater when it comes to movies, I usually only watch movies in genres I enjoy so there isn't a big bias, and I take into account everything from the style to meaning, and the way it was shot. This was just beautiful, this movie makes you feel like you are really a part of it, I got angry, and I cried too, and I was happy. Worth a watch! I'll probably buy it, and I will be reading the book too (didn't know there was one before).
Not call this a thriller,a romance or a mystery its more of a boar-er, not even a drama, It's not a movie at all, but a bunch of people talking non-sense 1/5
