Very entertaining mystery film. Great story..kept me interested with ease. Talented cast..Dennis Hopper was fantastic in this one; definitely one of his best performances. Well worth the time and certainly a rewatchable film..4/5 stars.
One of my favorite movies , have seen it many times when it first came out. Dennis Hopper plays the best bad guy any movie has ever had. Check out another Dennis Hopper role in the movie The Rivers Edge.
I have never been a fan of any kind of mystery/thriller, but Blue Velvet made me an instant fan. David Lynch always does quality work, and this film is arguably his best. A well spent two hours of viewing pleasure.
A “must see” film in my opinion, written and directed by David Lynch demonstrating elements of both film noir and surrealism, starring Kyle MacLachlan, Isabella Rossellini, Dennis Hopper and Laura Dern. The title is taken from the 1963 Bobby Vinton song. The film was acclaimed by critics, and initially not accepted by other mainstream American critics. It earned Lynch his second Academy Award nomination for Best Director. Blue Velvet is also noted for re-launching Dennis Hopper's career, initiating the adult career of Laura Dern, and providing Isabella Rossellini a new acting career. A film that can be seen repeatedly, one of my favourits, I rate it a 5/5.
I do not write many reviews but when I do it is for an extremely good reason. This is one of those movies that should be seen by as many people that should see a movie just like this. Reason being, there are many individuals that act just like the characters in this film, like "Frank", people like this should be removed from this planet as soon as possible. Watch this movie, and find out why.
There can't be anything more scary in the annals of movie history than the one Dennis Hopper plays in this flick. Another mind bender from Lynch, a ride for the imagination. A real adrenalin pumper.

This "reverse origin" film is a work of true genius overtaking those familiar with this artist's work in the rear view mirror of the mind.

David Lynch is another genius he can just take you somewhere different for a hour or 2 another persons mind I would like to be in for 24 hours..amazing
This film has achieved legendary status as wicked, but in retrospect, it's Nancy Drew. Have fun with Dennis Hopper playing psycho (a real stretch) and a great turn by Dean Stockwell. Essentially this was the film that got the contract for Lynch's tv series. It's just fun so don't be so uptight.
