I learned many things from this movie, one of them is to NEVER EVER let the society shape my life.
I loved this movie soo much! I've been dying to see it since forever and then they had it on HBO the night of the Academy Awards presentation.. Eeek! Heath Ledger was so cute as Anis.. I didn't like Jake Gyllenhall one bit, but Anne Hathaway was remarkable! Really stunning to see her do this kind of roleplay at last..
OMG, I will never (and never have, for that matter), criticise gay people ever again..
I was reluctant to watch this movie due to fears on how the two gay men would be perceived, however this was a very beautiful movie that any non-homophobic person would appreciate. Heath and Jake were brilliant although I didn't like Jake's character with a moustache.

this movie is a good romance watch whether gay or straight. I think Heath's best performance was Dark Knight tho!! He really got grimy 4 that one. R.I.P Heath!! 3/5
Wow, are we serious? Why does everyone like this movie so much? I'm gay and I thought the movie was pretty offensive in my opinion. 1/5 stars hands down.
Just curious Prayers4 Bobby, since you mentioned being gay & was offended by it.. what did you find offensive about it?? Anyway, my sister has really been bugging me to watch it for quite some time now. I'm straight and don't really find an interest in viewing a love story involving two guys (although I have nothing against gays) but ever since Heath Ledger's death I've been hearing how this was his best acting performance ever. I've decided to give it a view & see what all the commotion is about. I'll give my honest take on it after I watch it.
Ohh man.. :| again on such a downer after watching that, such a beautiful film, I love it so much, it's so real and so emotional :( .. it's just so beautiful and the emotions conveyed by Jake + Heath are phenomanol they really are..it's one of those films where you cringe when you think of it, 'cause you wanna make everything alright, you want to change the ending..but you know you can't and it plays on ur mind even more dayum.. kinda like titanic...
Ennis's character is so mysterious but at the same time seems so lonely and keeps to himself, didn't bring out much of what Heath Ledger has inside of him in other roles, but he brought the character to life as he does in every film hes ever done, he's phenomanol tbh, it's really unbelivably sad that he can't be in any more movies, and that we can't see him anymore :( but his recent roles in the dark knight and the immaginarium of dr parnassus have really left something for the world to remember, R.I.P Heath Ledger..

Jack didn't even get to say goodbye..it was awful :( ..and at the end when Jack's parents spoke about how he wantd his ashes at brokeback mountain coz they were his happiest times..aw man, I welled up so bad
this film was really good but now im on a downer (N) RIP Heath. Amazing acting.. man now i need to watch a happier film
Yeah I'm glad about what ended up happening, I wouldn't be surprised if blondie boy's family all contracted aides from him, by the way Mr. twist was a very sick individual.. indeed. The most horrible, disgusting movie ever made.
If you knew you were not going to enjoy the movie I suggest from now on don't watch movies you know you're going to not enjoy.. and if you some how didn't hear about this movie which i find amazingly impossible considering Heaths death then I suggest before watching movies watch the trailer so you wont spread your hate on such a open forum such as this.
As for myself I enjoyed this movie. The love they shared can be shared between any man or any woman.. it doesn't matter that it was two men.. the bond between them was amazing.. I'd be lucky to find a bond like that in my life.. a love so deep that you cannot deny your self the other persons touch.. to me that's beautiful, and It's sad when people in this world don't understand pure love.. they judge it and what you see in this movie is what happens, thankfully more less than used too.

I didn't get to see this in the theaters but everyone just raved about it. While it is a good movie, I think it was WAY overrated. By the way everyone talked about it, I expected much more.
At the heart of it, it's a great love story. Both actors gave a wonderful performance and I was glad to see that there was a lot of tenderness and emotion in this movie instead of a lot of the typical gay drama that you see everywhere. This really showed the intimacy and love that is shared between two people, no matter what gender.

I also think that it's very cute that Heath's real wife played his wife in this movie. Very sweet.
agreed 100% you took the words right out of my mouth. It was a really sentimental film, very interesting and believable. But they gave really fantastic performances,awesome actors, and it really was a great love story 4.5/5 It took an unexpected turn

But overall it was an amazing and unique movie, didnt really matter if it was 2 dudes. It really made me emotional.
ive seen this movie quite a few times and everytime it brings tears to my eyes.
I am a straight guy and married to a wonderful lady,every person in her family refuses to watch as do a few people i work with just because its 2 men.boy they are missing out.

I am a straight male and this is one of my all time favourite movies. No over the top male nudity or OTT gay action to put the lads off the film. Heath Ledger and Jake are both Superb in career high roles. Bet even the straightest of men have to admit this is a beautiful film and makles you think love is everywhere. Superb. Heath Ledger is a legend and the best Australian Actor ever. Watch this and reserve judgement till you do!!

What a beautiful film! I really loved it! Think Heath should've gotten that Oscar too, added to his Joker one. Nice film, definitely in my collection. If this story was ever real, my heart goes to Jack & Ennis.
I saw this movie twice in one week when it was first released, then I bought the dvd when it first came out; this is a great movie full of emotion and heartache. I'm straight and I cried watching this picture, and everytime I hear that music it conjures up strong feelings. I know people that still won't watch this movie for pointless reasons, and that's ashame because they're missing out on a real gem. Heath Ledger's performance here is better than his Oscar winning "Joker" performance in the "Dark Knight," he had the acting talents of a young Daniel-Day Lewis.
