it truly made me appreciate the book, and gave me insight into how much effort was truly made to create the work of art.

Man Hoffman nailed Capote's character! The way he talked was just like Capote, which was very peculiar in the sound of it. It kind of made me giggle a little bit when I first heard him speak. Great acting by all the main characters.
Chilling glimpse into the mind of an author. Truman Capote was misunderstood for most of his life. This film can make you glad to be "average". Genius has a very high price.
Tremendous job by Hoffman, very accurate and entertaining at the same time. An introspective look into one of the greatest and influential literary figures in recent history - the good and the ugly - non-biased and well made. Well worth the time investment. 4.75/5
you really gotta have guts to talk & act like Hoffman did. he was just so incredible!! Holy jesus, what a terrific film! Phillip Seymour Hoffman can play practically any character. This dude is really talented, he's the only actor i've ever admired so much. Please watch this film, it's beautiful.
I'm so glad that I had the opportunity to see Hoffman's protrail of Truman Capote; his role was certainly worthy of the Oscar it netted. Fantastic interpretation, so into character it is freightening. I had seen the movie, "In Cold Blood," years before and it was shocking. Little did I know the impact the story had on Mr. Capote. This man truely suffered for his work, and it is a shame he never finished another book before his untimely death. What a great man, capable of feeling and honestly representing his subject; regardless of the horror and the pain of the exercise. Great film!
I LOVE PHILLIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN! THIS MOVIE TRULY SHOWS HIS TALENT. HE DESERVED THE OSCAR FOR THIS. I HAVE WATCHED HIM IN EVERY MOVIE SINCE TWISTER AND HE HAS GOTTEN ALMOST TO PERFECTION. EMPIRE FALLS WAS ANOTHER FAVORITE EVEN THOUGH HE HAD A SMALL PART IN IT, HE WAS EXCELLENT. CAN'T WAIT FOR MORE OF HIS MOVIES. TRUMAN CAPOTE WAS A TRULY TORTURED INDIVIDUAL AND IF NOT FOR THE GRACE OF GOD HE COULD HAVE BEEN PERRY SMITH, IT MAKES ONE WONDER IF HE WASN'T A PRISONER OF HIS OWN MAKING..
Capote's obsession with his prisoner is somewhat similar to Norman Mailer's coverage of Gary Gilmore in "The Executioner's Song", which won a pulitzer prize. Gilmore also had great drawings and poetry. His last words were: "let's do this".
I think that this movie very good and i would recommend it. I have purchased the book of amazon and cannot wait to read it. In the books there are always more details that could not be placed in a movie and I cannot wait to see whatthey are. I feel so sorry the familys' lost but I also felt sorry for the lost of those lost men. I felt sorry for Truman and him not being able to mentally get passed what he had incountered during that time.
This film depicts Truman Capote's life so well! This was a well writen film that deserves to be admired by all to come! I have to say I liked Walk The Line a little more than this one, but all the same this movie shows how much of a genius that Truman Capote really is.
