Carrie White is a lonely and painfully shy teenage girl with telekinetic powers who is slowly pushed to the edge of insanity by frequent bullying from both classmates at her school, and her own religious, but abusive, mother.
They think that way because they want to punish everyone, and as long as they are in misery they want everyone else to suffer too! I have an Uncle that thinks that way, I end up correcting him all the time! We are here at this time to learn that is the whole reason that we live, it's too bad so many people want nothing to do with expanding their understand of anything beyond how to collect more worthless paper money!
A congregation of nobodies offset by a couple of has-beens attempting to ride the wave of a cult movie, but crashing, and not even with grace. How many homeless, starving and needy would that budget have make happy?
A watchable remake, but the original is leagues better.
I've seen Angela Bettis in quite a few horror films now and she's excellent, but Sissy Spacek played Carrie White to perfection .. there can be no other.
3/5 stars from me.
I have read the book and saw both movies. Stephen King is a horror king but the movies missed the mark some. But there is none like the original movies that was as close to matching the book in terms of pure horror. I agree this looked kind of fake but i give it a 3 out of 5 and that is being generous.
ohh damn i thought this was the movie where the girl was like related to this girl but she had dark hair and at the end she had a tatoo and it coverd her body and she killed everyone in the house.."/ what movie is that??
I just started watching the fil and in the credits B/C this is supposed to be the remake..John travolta is in the opening credits.However I thought he was in the original?? I will find out and reply when the movie is finished
i love this version, i really hated sissy spacek in the other version she was all abnormal skin-and-bones she wasn't likeable, whereas this carrie was better, much better i liked her and i wanted her to be happy.. i wanted sissy spacek to get hurted..
