Sorry Darwin Was A Nutcase!
Darwin got into Eugenics, that alone prove he was totally crazy!

The specter of eugenics hovers over virtually all contemporary developments in human genetics. Eugenics was rooted in the social Darwinism of the late 19th century, a period in which notions of fitness, competition, and biological rationalizations of inequality were popular. At the time, a growing number of theorists introduced Darwinian analogies of "survival of the fittest" into social argument. Many social Darwinists insisted that biology was destiny, at least for the unfit, and that a broad spectrum of socially deleterious traits, ranging from "pauperism" to mental illness, resulted from heredity.

The word "eugenics" was coined in 1883 by the English scientist Francis Galton, a cousin of Charles Darwin, to promote the ideal of perfecting the human race by, as he put it, getting rid of its "undesirables" while multiplying its "desirables" -- that is, by encouraging the procreation of the social Darwinian fit and discouraging that of the unfit. In Galton's day, the science of genetics was not yet understood. Nevertheless, Darwin's theory of evolution taught that species did change as a result of natural selection, and it was well known that by artificial selection a farmer could obtain permanent breeds of plants and animals strong in particular characteristics. Galton wondered, "Could not the race of men be similarly improved?"

Eugenics took popular hold after the turn of the 20th century, flourishing for several decades. During its heyday, social prejudice suffused human genetics, often attributing to genetics social differences that were actually rooted in race and class. After World War II, however, biologists in the United States and Britain fought -- by and large successfully -- to emancipate human genetics from such biases in order to establish it as a solid field of science that would explain the complexities of human heredity and assist medicine by illuminating the relationship of genetics to disease.

During the past 50 years, molecular geneticists have located, isolated, manipulated, and analyzed thousands of human genes, including many implicated in diseases and other conditions. Their work has been greatly accelerated by the Human Genome Project, which began in the late 1980s and which in 2001 completed a first draft of the entire sequence of DNA in the human genome.

In the long run, human genetic knowledge will very likely lead to therapies and cures for many diseases. But some fear that the techniques of gene therapy, embryo selection, and the engineering of sperm could all become tools of a kind of human genetic manipulation that would be offensive to humane and egalitarian values. The manipulation could discriminate against socially costly or devalued groups and individuals.

These anxieties are rooted in the social tensions that beset contemporary society. They were heightened by the recent renewal of assertions -- notably in The Bell Curve, Charles Murray and the late Richard J. Herrnstein's widely discussed book of 1994 -- that racial groups differ from each other in their innate mental capacities. Murray and Herrnstein reported that the principal difference lies between whites on the one side, and Latinos and, especially, blacks on the other. Blacks on average score 15 points lower than whites on IQ tests. Herrnstein and Murray concluded that therefore blacks as a group are less intelligent than whites. They held that genes place blacks, along with whites of comparable test performance, disproportionately in poverty, in prison, on the welfare rolls, and in the statistics of illegitimate births. They insisted that the high maternity rate of low-income groups is fostering "dysgenics," the increase of inadequate genes in the population.

Such claims are not new. They formed part of the core of the eugenics movement that swept through the Anglo-American world and many other countries during the first third of the 20th century. In the United States, however, the biological distinctions that mainly obsessed eugenicists were not those between whites and blacks, but those then believed to divide whites -- differences between the old-stock white, Anglo-Saxon, Protestant majority and the numerous Catholic and Jewish immigrants from Eastern and Southern Europe.

Eugenicists, who were themselves predominantly of the old majority, considered scholastic intelligence -- the kind indicated in IQ tests -- a paramount measure of human merit, ignoring other abilities such as business acumen and artistic creativity that such tests did not capture. To them, IQ tests appeared to determine that the newer immigrants were innately endowed with low intelligence, while their high birth rates seemed to indicate that they were spreading inferior genes into the population at a rapid rate. In the interest of reducing the proportion of the "less fit" in society, eugenicists in the United States helped restrict immigration from Eastern and Southern Europe. They promoted the passage of eugenic sterilization laws that disproportionately threatened lower-income groups. The laws and programs they fostered supplied a model for the Nazis, who sterilized several hundred thousand people and, brandishing their research into the genetics of individual and racial differences, claimed scientific justifications for the Holocaust.

The Nazi horrors discredited eugenics as a social program. Studies in social and biological science repudiated its stigmatizing theories of human difference, showing that what it took to be distinctions of race were actually those of ethnicity. In the United States, the social policies that reduced discrimination and expanded opportunity worked with the passage of time to produce their salubrious effects among the newer immigrants and their descendants, including socioeconomic improvement and, eventually, par performance on IQ tests. Between the 1930s and the 1980s, whites' scores on such tests rose some 14 points. Blacks' scores rose, too, though not as much. Still, along with the change in whites' scores, the increase indicates that test results are not rigidly fixed by genes, but are also sensitive to changes in education, opportunity, and scholastic ambition.

Blacks have resided on the American continent for the better part of four centuries; nevertheless, it is mainly since World War II -- but even more so since the 1960s -- that they have passed on their migration to freedom from a United States that was legally segregated and in countless ways racially oppressive to the contemporary nation, where, although racism continues its poisonous work, new standards of law and tolerance better protect dignity and beckon ambition. In a sense, blacks as a community have only just embarked on the journey that many white immigrant groups took several generations to complete. It is not unreasonable to conceive that, as it was for those white minorities, so it will be -- given enough time and good will -- for nonwhite minorities, including the flood of recent newcomers to the United States.

The roots of human behaviors and capacities are complicated. Attempts to probe them for the role of genes may try to allow for contemporary environmental differences, but they tend to be blind to the cultural and psychological impact of past experience. They rely on measures that fail to capture attitudes, aspirations, expectations, and, above all, social hope. In short, they can be blind to the legacy of history.

We as humans must learn to turn away from the animal ways of fear. Fear is an instinct that will destroy us, fear makes us act too quickly and abandon reason. Fear in the very thing that shows us who is truly human and who is in reality an animal that looks like a human. We have seen the animal A.K.A.the mob, that acts without thinking solely acting on emotion, hate and fear! Who among you is truly human and who is an animal, only a human is truly free an animal can be controlled by campaign of fear, hate, and his or her emotions, we see it often in politic these days, who among you is being controlled!!

We're all intitled to our opinions, but to just state that this is trash is utter nonesense. Perhaps you should be a little more open minded, I think you then might be able to enjoy more films & life in general. Btw, I'm assuming you are American..Constructive critism/comments about the film would be more helpfull.

You Should
you should keep God out of this, God has nothing to do with this, God is fiction liek santa and the tooth fairy ,one day your parrents todl you they lied about santa and the tooth fairy what something wel all belived in they should have also told you the same about god, this is science and science has nothing to do with religion..

if god created the earth then woman comes from a mens 13nd rib and then we are all family that means this is one hugh incest pool, the idea alone repulses me.

thank god in my country you can not mix religion with school or politics.
a wise man once said religion is food for the poor and the uneducated. and people who want to feel supirior, cause they idea of being part of a Godly plan is much more appealing then being part of the ape family well a chimp and a human are 95.9% the same, how do u explain that one..

you religiouse nutcases are all the same and the only thing your doing is start wars all over the planet, god is not love it is fear, he scares you into believing cause if you dont u end up in hell almost every war on this planet started because of religion and the world would be a far better place without all them religiouse nutcases.. esspecially them americans, they are like them siucide terrorists not much diffrence between a extreme christian or chatolic and a extreme muslim is there, but a american i concider to be more educated and thus they must know better but it seems education in america is even worse then i figured...

the more poor a country is the more religiouse people in its borders poor and low educated people need faith that things will get better and religion proves tht faith..where as the well educated person will go out and make things better for him self a religiouse person spends time on hes or her knees praying...

1st thing first..spell check..your whole argument that religion is food for the ignorant is undermined when you messpill the word superior.

2nd. Our country was founded by "religiouse nutcases". The separation of church and state was enacted to protect the church from our own government. Which, is one of the major reasons America seceded from England in the first place. Taxation without representation.

Lastly, it is called the THEORY of evolution, NOT the FACT. Creationism is the opposing argument to the big bang but is scoffed because only "religiouse nutcases" believe that hunk of crap! Beware of one hand clapping (It's an analogy, look it up).

The Miller-Urey Experiment was only capable of producing a simple amino acid. In 1950 that was a big deal because they had not even fathomed that cells were more complex. Also one of the key assumptions was that pre-life atmosphere consisted of those inorganic elements which later proved to be false. Simply stated, when the Miller-Urey Experiment is attempted with the chemicals that we now assume the atmosphere consisted of it would fail 100% of the time.

and a little something to chew on:

I believe that groups formed around Eugenics like Planned Parenthood are all watered down forms of the Social Genocide begun with the Nazis in the 1940's. Please do a little research on the Science behind the racial cleansing of the Nazis. In which scientists were capable of isolating and eliminating weaknesses within the race. I can draw some frightening parallels going on with artificial insemination options and determination of "defects" within the embryo.

Please give this one a little bit of thought before you have a knee jerk reaction and post something stupid.

to all the religious nut cases replying to this, this is an international forum and the very person you berate for spelling and grammar errors are the same ones who most likely speak 2 or 3 or 4 languages. Your arrogant, supremest, narrow-minded, brainwashed views of the world have lead you to believe that the whole world should be American, white, christian and have English as r their first and only language.

YOU GET NOTHING FROM NOTHING .. so God is nothing because he could not be formed without a creator. It is true that we do not have all the answers.. YET.. that is what Darwin and every other scientist is attempting to do.. find REAL answers, not placate religious bigots with fairy tales.

one of you obviously did not make it past third grade or you would know that America was built on escaping the church of England..and religious persecution.. Thus separation of church and state.. it was to PROTECT people from the abuses of religion.

Langway your whole argument was in turn undermined by the fact that your first point was that the person had made a spelling mistake which is a pathetic way to start any argument. I therefore doubted I would find any molten bronze droplets of wisdom from someone who is actually capable of writing 'messpill' instead of 'misspell' when arrogantly criticising someone else's spelling, and I was correct. I didn't read all your post as your ignorance bored me. I got as far as the old 'it is a theory, not fact' chestnut and gave up. If you would care to check, the scientific use of the word 'theory' is quite different to how it is used in common parlance and anyway 99% of all scientific 'facts' are actually theory with an overwhelming amount of evidence to back it up, as evolution has. It is virtually impossible to completely prove most scientific facts but they are accepted as such due to the overwhelming evidence and the skill and reputations of the scientists who have studied the subject and given their conclusions. Evolution being referred to as a theory is always jumped on by people as it directly opposes their religious beliefs for which there is absolutely not one shred of credible evidence for whatsoever.

This is a must-see for anyone who purports to talk knowledgeably about Darwinism and "Intelligent Design."
For example, the explanation of how the eye, this marvelously complex organ, evolved over the span of millions of years from simple light-sensitive spots on the skin debunks the idea that only someone "intelligent" could have created such complexity.

Great Documentation
This is such a great documentation, showing the theory of Darwin and how it was developed.
However, there are some more scientific questions lately and they more we look they more questions we get.
Look at http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-558512566958896670 to get some more about the topic Charles Darwin and the latest scientific developments and questions.

If there a creator exists maybe can't never be answered, but it looks like that that there is a creator. For example the way how matter works at extreme small scale and the theory of strings would suggest that we are living in a kind of matrix and that indeed there is a creator, since we expect that a matrix would work in the way matter works in the subatomic way.
Another thing is the double helix and how the cells work at small scale. it look like designed and thats what the documentation at http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-558512566958896670 is about.

One Question
if we are a great ape..we were the only ones to evolve features and hair that meant we could swim ..our noses are longer and the holes under to allow both diving and swimming without the water just rushing into our air ways..our hair streams along our body instead of staying ridged and course.
our bodys are up right but supple and we are torpedo shaped in essence the most water streamlined shape you can get and can cut through water with the greatest ease for a land animal.

WHY?

Who feeds you these ridiculous concepts? And why haven't you ever questioned any of them?

Watch this documentary ... it beautifully illustrates the scientific process.

This Is All A Bunch Of GARBAGE!
Everyone in this thread it wrong. EVERYONE knows that The Fly Spaghetti Monster is our lord and Savior. He is invisible and created the dinosaurs, god and the theory of evolution to test us!
If you have not been touched by his great noodlely appendage Then REPENT! For your Lord The Flying Spaghetti Monster will bring you great peace in heaven if you just believe!
You'll go to heaven where their are beer volcanoes and thousands of attractive females(or males if you're into them)! You'll be in eternal Happiness and pleasure!
But if you go to hell..it's exactly like heaven except the Beer from the Volcanoes is warm and flat and the females all have STD! DUN DUN DUN!

The Flying Spaghetti Monster is REAL. Prove me wrong.

Hahaha, we were having a discussion of this the other day. All scientists and teachers from different fields, and our hypothesis is that the farther an idea gets from it's conception date and origin, the more likely it is to be believed.

It is the whole urban legend thing.. I know a guy from another college, who's sister's boyfriend.. blah blah blah. I am sure you know how that works, anyway we have calculated that the flying spaghetti monster will be a legitimate, tax dodging religion in less than 50 years. That is roughly how much time passed between cult inception and recognized religion for all the biggest cults.

someone has to start a theory.. it does not pop into the minds of thousands of scientist simultaneously. Do you need a list of the tens of thousands of scientists who have expounded on his theory? Or do you believe that one human can live long enough to discover all the answers to all of the mysteries in the universe alone?

Science is and has always been a collaborative effort!

why every one s talking about bible here it has a history of two thousand years, and even then it is written by the rich and powerful politicians of rome to control people. if you want to know about how life come to be on earth and humans you need to dig deeper in to the oldest writings. one of the oldest tales tell you that when god forgive adam and eve they meet in mesopotamia and started to populate they had twins one boy one girl each time but they were to never marry each other they were only to marry every second generation of twins if you search deeper in to the past men could sleep with men is well but as the time past and we are more civilized this things were not allowed in our society then the profits told people that incest was not allowed gay relations forbidden so on so on now i ask you is it better to be living in the world people are no longer scared that they will be punished of their wrong doing after life and this one or roam free to kill and rape another human being with out punishment here or after life idea i think it is better that i teach my kid that he will be punished for he's wrong doings after life even if i don't believe in after life

In your closing statement I think you make a very good point. Faith can give comfort to people and help them cope when they lose a loved one (especially a child), and can cause people not to stray if they have even a slight suspicion someone may be watching them and keeping notes.

On the whole though I think organised religion is not a good thing.

The world was better off without modern religion.. all the great thinkers, Plato, Socrates, Aristotle and the rest were changing the world for the better. Plato's Republic?? ring a bell with any of you? That is what our country was based on.

Long after the world had started on the road to enlightenment , a group of profit greedy Jews made up a religion so that they could continue to sell their female relatives and profit from war. When there were hundreds of gods, no one group could amass enough wealth or power to be a menace.

There were women running the library in Alexandria and attending the School of Athens. 6,000 years ago, there were records of female merchants and business owners. Greek and Roman women were getting tired of their men always being away fighting and they revolted.

The downtrodden Jewish women saw this and got UPPITY and decided they did not want to be property.. And Abraham .. the bane of female existence.. was schemed into existence. The 120 men of the Great Synagogue got together to write the Talmud.. and give themselves and their descendants, vast wealth and power.. and thus the greatest Ponzi scam in history began.. it worked pretty well for a while.. then the Christians hijacked the scam and added to it.. well, you know the rest of the story.

"it is written by the rich and powerful politicians of rome to control people."

No, it was written by the money lenders not the Romans. That is why the Christians put so much vitriol towards the Jews in their version of the story, to make the Jews look bad so they could hijack the religion and replace the Jews as the owners of god.

what ever the reason for religious books i don't believe in them in fact i don't believe anything writen by men to control fellow men or women but i believe in a higher power so it would be best to teach our kids the right moral values and to respect one another despite the colour or their believes even when they are jews. i come from a muslim back round. there is only one truth that we will all die one day i want to die with a clear coincense

Why can't people just accept that God and science can coexist?
To completely deny scientific fact is absurd and to completely deny that the existence of our consciousness has a deep spiritual side is just as absurd.
Yes, religion has it's many flaws, but faith in a higher consciousness has just as much benefit as solid fact.
We are all human and in this vast universe our planet is barely a particle. We should be working together to save this tiny planet and not dividing and hating based on cynicism, ignorance, dogma or politics.

It's better to be arbitrary than apathetic.

Your body is made of a trillion cells, each one, a single living organism which works with it's neighbour to keep YOU from falling apart.

Individually we are the cells that make up the human race. The more we divide the quicker this world falls apart.

Blah blah blah I could go on all night spouting this hippy stuff but you KNOW I'm making sense. (or at least, the cheezy sentimental part of your psyche knows.)

Awsome!
How can this not be what happened? It has evidence of all types. But still 62% of Americans believe that a supernatural being desgined everything. A supernatural being is more believable than this is. A supernatural being, aye? That makes sense? It is unbelievable to me that ANYONE can believe in the STORY of two people that only had 2 sons, and that they populated the world. If that so, please tell me why all people are not WHITE Europeans. Also tell me why, if the Middle East is the begining of our civilization, and are the ones to recieve the word of a supernatural being as law and absolute fact, why we are not all Middle Eastern types. Logic would state that if Man was made in the image of "God". Why are there different races? O yes, another feat done by the supernatural being in some story. But he was smart he made the white european the the main guy- ask them. They tried to rule the world and made the supernatural's laws to serve their own purposes.
How anyone can believe the "tales" of the bible is unbelievible. Can it be a fact that Americans more than ANY other country believe in ADAM and EVE.
I understand Fred Flitstone's diary was found. It clearly states that Barney Rubble used to date Eve's daughter, oops she only had boys. Maybe it was Cain or Able in DRAG

Don't forget that same god created such a faulty product that he had to keep going back and altering it so that he could get dozens of races out of the same two set of genes! Now talk about biodiversity!! LMAO

Definitely do not forget that his design was so faulty that he had to have faulty humans alter his design after birth .. I guess he was like.. OOPS! I forgot to remove that unneeded junk from the genitalia .. can you guys clean up my mistake for me?

Thanks Watch-movies For Not Censoring This!
The new Darwin the movie aka Creation has been banned from being shown in America! The website for the movie has been blocked in America but the lame rebuttal movie website put out by religious nut cases is NOT blocked! Look it up on IMdb.

BE AFRAID AMERICA.. BE VERY AFRAID!

Thank goodness we can count on watch-movies to not deprive us of our civil rights to free speech and freedom of expression. LOL!

The reason why they cant believe him because their is no factual proof of evolution. We were created and there is a creator, many facts on that but i dont have time for explanation on it.

JC4u, Everything in the Bible has been unequivocally been proven FALSE! None of it could have happened as written. That is why they have to rewrite it and add explanations and footnotes so often.

That excuse of correcting wrong translations of dead languages is just soo convenient for covering the tracks of liars.

Now, if god were smart he would have had it written in Latin.. because he would have known that Latin would be the only language to survive. An Omnipotent, all knowing being would have known that.. Further proof that there is no god.

So, keep making up fake translations and making up contradictory analysis of what you THINK it really should have said and when science catches up, you can discard it all and make a new religion so that the religious leaders at the top of the food chain can garner wealth and power and live like kings. Which was the plan all along.

Tree Of Life Is True Burt GOD Exists
Aristotel once said : YOU GET NOTHING FROM NOTHING , so someone or may I say something had to be there to start it . Nothing pops out suddenly and we all know that . that something that started it is GOD .. bible says that it took 7 days and 7 nights but no one knows how long were those days and night , adam came from earth thats right and we can prove that , all life developed from earth first it was the planet the earth than came life (and underneath the water there's earth , water is just on top of it ) Believe me god exists and its an almighty force that surrounds us .. Peace to all ( I'm catholic by the way )..

wow, bible bashing much? Keep your religion to yourself- Tell me why every time someone says something to the contrary of 'GOD KNOWS' 'ALL KNOWING GOD' people feel they must remind you it is the popular religion? I was raised catholic darlin, and it doesnt matter. Darwin must be respected for having the brass to have an opposing idea in an age that made this a dangerous suggestion. geez..

I'm glad that you quoted Aristotel; however, Artistotlel never read the Miller-Urey Experiment, where two scientist were able to simulate the early stages of Earth, and by using only gases, were able to create micro-organisms.

If you still believe in creationism after reading the Miller-Urey Experiment, then you need religion because you are a lost cause.

The bible also says that humanity began with two people, a man and woman - else where in the bible, it says that incest is bad in the eye of god.
But then, you can always say "Ohh that's the old testament, ignore that" like most christians do.. But then they pull out the fact that the first chapter about the creation of earth is a truth..
You can't choose what is true or false in the bible, that's like ignoring your "God"'s word. :)

There are so many loopholes in the Bible, it's unbelievable. I began reading it a few weeks ago, and I was laughing to myself most of the way through.
For example.. Adam and Eve have a kid, fair enough. They have three boys (I think it was three), then one of the boys gets married to a woman and the two of them build a city.
Lolwhut? Where'd woman #2 come from?

neither darwinism or the miller-urey experiment ever made claims that we got somthing from nothing. however this is a common misstake i find among religious ppl they tend to ignore what was said and then quote somthing from their bible. people these theorys arent "magic" there is a ryhm and reason behind these theorys, expeiriments etc..unlike religion, science doesnt just read somthing and except it our minds dont work that way. after all "God" gave everyone brains why not use them? ...so lets see .... somthing from nothing..ponder..somthing from nothing..mm. a friend and i were having this discusion the other day he said atoms werent allways there they had to be created from something so as open minded as i am i said ill bite where do you think they came from.."God" he said..i see, so where did "God" come from..he was always there he said..somthing from nothing ..mm..get were im getting at here? 1+1 always equals 2 some ppl just choose to ignore the science. Peace to all ( im agnositc as if it mattered)

the scientists your talking about happened to get it right because they knew what it took to sustain life but if your suggesting that when there was nothing and than out of no where two organisms collided and created something ? .. really ?
your theory suggests that by chance we came to be honestly that's not in anyway true you believe we need religion because we are a so called lost cause but we have religion because we were a lost cause and we found a reason to live you my good sir are a lost cause if you have NOTHING to live for .. thanks anyway tho for your critisim

the experiment has nothing to do with the creation of the world..just life. but there experiment would have mostly delt with the big bang theory in which these gasses that would have existed spreading out through the universe and coming together in just the right situation to create life, this was a simulation of that. the experiment worked..read about it please for once. and i believe from actually paying attention to what r6fool said that he meant that if your going to ignore the facts then your a lost cause bassed on the fact that you would rather just "believe" somthing instead of searching for answers. and he wasnt saying that two organisms collided and made life ..organisms are living so what would be the point of that? Also where does it say that if you dont have religion you have nothing to live for? thats a bunch of balony.

To r6fool: Umm, interesting, until one question rises.. WHERE DID THE GASES COME FROM IN THE BEGINNING OF TIMES? I mean, like Markos said.. Things (or gases) in this case just don't pop up out of nowhere. I mean, I'm not saying necessarily that I have absolute truth and that God does exist (though I REALLY believe so,I'm catholic btw), but simply I'm sticking to the facts. Science is useful, but it STILL can't explain A LOT of things, and so, we ARE in our right to believe in creationism if we want to, since science is still not able to fill those "tiny holes" that noone else is able to explain. I find it a bit disturbing how quick you are to judge and say he's a "lost cause" because he believes in something that you don't believe in. Umm, perhaps I could use the same statement on you?

dudes, read recovery-version old testament.

Genesis 1;1-2 says that
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth but the earth became waste and emptiness, and darkness was on the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was brooding upon the surface of the waters.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth but the earth became wasted.

the word BUT is something. In other versions, its AND.

AND or BUT, it doesn't matter.

You never know how long God created the heavens and the earth to the time it became waste and emptiness.

I also agree to Markos that no one knows how long were those days and knights.

scientist can't understand what life really is. if they do, then why not make life? they know what humans are made off, then why not make one.

ofcourse, they coudn't make one. john 1;10 i guess, in Him was life.

to thepathy. i gree with u.
science can't explain everything.

me, i got an experience. i saw this girl, i was very young back then. we and my friends are in the balcony. we're more than 5. we're many.

this girl, in the rooftop, wearing white. now, my friend came inside and brought a big flashlight (thats so long ago, flashlight were still so use) and whenever he directs the flashlight to the girl, the girl disappears. and when he directs it away from the girl, she appears again.

actually, she's a women. in our place, we call them White Ladies. Now, is there even a theory that can explain what happen back then? even people from there have a testimony that they do see a lady in white. that's so long ago but my friends are all sure what they saw.

now, now, it has nothing to do with darwin's theory but i just wanna say that science can't explain everything.

..that 'recovery-version' bible raises a damned LOT of questions--more than usual.. questions regarding faulty translations, omissions and such..

..it's hard to competently endorse half-a-bible.. but apparently, it's not so hard for some to believe it..
but, whatever floats your hope, I guess..

to glovehead:

i still think its the best bible out there because it has a brief explanation of the verse citing verses to prove it and it points out other verses that has the same word. thus, its easier to understand the bible that way.

mostly, bible are "dust-collectors". this kind of bible isn't though.

well, about faulty translation, I doubt that its faulty. it even has the best capitalization among other bibles when it comes to the name of Jesus.

LoL, Religious folks do get full of vinegar when they find themselves in an argument proving their side of a debate. No need to get nasty, yall, everyone is ENTITLED to their own opinion. In my experience it seems most religious folks don't seem to like much that people are so entitled. To me, religion is simply a way for people to explain the unexplainable. There will not likely ever be a day we as a species will be able to explain what space is, how it got there, etc.. it is simply to big, and us too small. Science does have its place, and you must consider what science has afforded us over all these years. Were we to depend soley on religion where would we be? Anything that makes us a better person should be respected. No one way is the only right way for everyone. No matter what your bible says.

Evolution Or Change?
I believe in evolution as change occurs all the time, thats the only evolution i believe in. Eugenics is all dependent on what you perceive to be perfect, what you can see to manipulate and actually the pros and cons of manipulation, you always have to lose something right. Not a bad thing at all if you can get the balance right..get rid of the bad things and remould it all into good :). My parents always said practise makes perfect, while I like that I also like I think therefore I am and cultivation ideas.

I believe if you really want something you build it into your life, grow it, define it, trim and nurture it, shape it etc. why not do it in a lab when science is much greater..but a body might be a lot easier to mould than a mind ey ;)

this film brings lots of answers with it more questions come to mind. i would have enjoyed it better if the theory of humans descended from monkeys was not been tried to pushed in our mind. there is still no proof of that yet just because our dna is so close to monkeys it can not be seen as fact. i still recommend this film to any nature lover. we are to blame that our kids believe santa clause more then they believe god
