sorry but I very much doubt that. Id possibly say one of the worst. Thats what you get when you put a great writer like Orsen Welles a free hand in the production. He should have left that up to the proffessionals, whoever they are ! Obviously we have a difference of opinion but hey each to their own right? :)
I was so bored with this . Where was all the innovative cinematography that was promised in its reviews? I fell asleep after half an hour then I rewound the last 20 mins of the end to see and was not impressed. I consider this to be the single worst piece of garbage my eyes have had the total displeasure to fall upon. Result: absolute rubbish 0/5 stars. Trust me give this a wide berth!
it was a movie that wasn't my cup of tea. a little to over the top in spots. i don't rate it as one of the bests. but i should probably watch it over and might have a different opinion
The best hollywood movie of all time.no movie to challenge it even after 70 years.won one oscar and nominated in 8 other categories.desrved all 9. dint get recognition it deserved.dis is the benchmark of classic cinema.brilliant,spectacular,genius,out of dis world.
This is definately THE Classic Movie of all times.. If you havent seen this movie, you haven't seen anything.. Its got so many aspects..puts you in so many moods... I have watched this movie several times throughout my life...and it just keeps getting better and better... 100 / 100
When I found out that this film is considered the greatest of all time, I had to see it. It isn't one of my all time favorites, but it IS one of the greatest that I have seen. It is beautifully shot, and the acting is very intense. 4/4 stars!
This 1941 classic broke every barrier and was decades ahead of its time in virtually every area of cinema. Highly regarded by every critic and widely praised, the AFI considers this the greatest motion picture ever made and I certainly do not disagree.
If you have not seen this, it is an absolute must.
Good movie groundbreaking,but to be considered the best of all time well then Yes it's deserves that kind of recognition.It's not an easy movie to compare with others but that is why it's so unique.Incredibly impressive for 1941.
I didn't start watching this film with good expectations and was forced to watch it for a film class I'm taking.
Very innovative for it's time. The only genre missing from this movie is horror. It has everything.
The ending was easy to figure out since I used to watch The Animanicas. :-P
The direction of the photography, the acting, the camera angles, this is cinema at it's finest. If only he would've waited a few years to release it william hearst would'nt not of had the chance to destroy his life. I recently worked on a film with an actor who me this gentleman that in his youth was orson welles waiter for the evening, the actor asked him if know one was in the room when he said "rosebud" then how did all those reporters know about it? Orson replied by putting his index finger up to his lip and said "Shh"
It has also been rumored that hearst was really furious for using the word rosebud because it was rumored it was his pet name for his wife's nether region.
