The movie was pretty good, but these troubled little brats were just itching to play with the big boys and I think they got just what they deserved. This is not respect for guns, it kiddies playing like they are adults. 3/5
The "nameless smalltown" theme returns again, complete with maps, one of the aspects of "Dogville" that I liked so much. I identified with the "Dandies," I grew up in a pacifist household yet developed early on a fascination and later obsession with firearms, especially curio and relic weapons, and today as an adult I have a healthy collection. The appearance of a couple of my favorites, for instance the C-96 Mauser Broomhandle, and the FN Model 1900, really had me excited. I enjoyed the film, however I found the plot to be a bit hurried, as if Lars simply could not wait to begin the climactic ending. Despite that I really liked it.
This movie set in heartland america touches of what all americans currently feel towards gun ownership. Bringing a twist of end quite surprising and very intrigueing after having watched.
