I remember this movie coming out around the same time as Armageddon. I always liked this one better--even though Armageddon may have done better at the box office. Must be Spielberg's humanist approach in all his movies that appealed to me.
I really thought this would be a cheap ripoff clone movie when it came out, But i was greatly surprised.
This is a five star movie all the way.

i absolutely love 'end of the world' movies. i remember this movie being alot better when i first watched it when it came out. ive noticed alot of ppl comparing this to armageddon. this is a little more drama than thriller compared to armageddon. alot of the scenes and reactions were unrealistic which irritated me a bit but still very enjoyable to watch and i was again entertained. 8/10
Considering everything going on in the world today, predictions etc, this was a good way of showing what can happen. Also adds to the NWO/2012 themes going on..who will survive etc. I enjoyed this movie.
Waay better than armageddon , which was really silly.I won't even bother watching armageddon again , unlike this one which I have watched a few times and will watch again whenever its on the tele!. This is a great reincarnation of the " meteor destroys earth" story told a few times before and will probably be told a few times again in the future.
PS- MORGAN FREEMAN PLAYS A GREAT OBAMA IN THIS MOVIE , its kinda weird but they seem similar in their mannerism and speaking and confidence ( not just because of their ethnicity). And yes I know this movie was out way before the world had even heard of a "Obama"
I cried like a baby because they say that is going to happend in the year 2012 it's horiffic, and it was really sad cuz i had a dream like that, it'z very sad to leave a loved one.
