This movie was so good..it kept me on the edge of my seat and it scared the heck out of me. I felt like they could whack Johnny Depp's Brasco at any moment! GREAT FILM!
No comparison to God Father as I’ve heard from some but very good nonetheless. Never understood why men with families go undercover and risks their family’s life that’s just plain stupid.

4/5 stars for great acting by all. Realistic approach to the film probably b/c based on a true story.
woulda gave it 5/5 but kinda sux y they didnt show what hapend to lefty in the end, even tho i knew what hapend i still woulda liked to see it on screen
ok ill say this again. Donnie brasco was missing after some years since he finished with hes mission. they found hes car but not him or hes body till now. many people believes that hes dead! anyway this movie worth to watch it coz is one of the best movie. is a true story but not the whole story coz no1 knows enything more since Donnie moved out to a secret place.
The thing about this movie is that alot of it is loosely based.I have read the book.No need to feel bad for Pacino's character cause in the book it said the FBI picked up him up before his sitdown to get whacked.As a matter of fact Sonny Black in the book was more his best friend than Lefty and Sonny Black was found dead in Central Park right after Pistone came out of the mob.Interesting little tid bits for those that are interested.The hit in the basement was true to the T..
this is one of the best gangster movies i have seen in a long time! i put this one up there w/ scarface which also pacino was in. depp did an awesome job as always!what? are you a cop? a must see 10/10! if you like johnny depp as much as i do than you should check out my playlist which has all the johnny depp movies i could find here in order from newest to oldest. capnluci's just for johnny..thanks and enjoy:)
Why did the Feds spill the beans about Donnie at the pool hall in the end? Did they want Lefty to be whacked?It didn't make sense to blow Donnie's cover even if he was pulled back in
Have you guys checked out Al Pacino with Kim Basinger in "People I Know"? That flick Puddleducks said he watched twice, but once was enough for this one.
..with a few innacuracies. The stupidiest of them- it's not Lefty who was killed afterwards in real life, it was Sonny Black, as he was the real friend of "Donnie", not lefty- he was arrested and later died naturally. so, that was pretty stupid. and as much as I like Depp, I totally don't think he was good for this role- he didn't resemble the Joseph character at all. He's too young, too different. but he did his job well, of course.
still.. those were two biggest points why I didn't like this film THAT much.
otherwise-great.! especially al pacino- he was just brilliant.
