I found this movie to be extremely lame.. not only was the storyline so predictable but it wasn't scary.. it tried to be funny but failed because it was too gross to be funny.. and yet not disturbing enough to be scary.. the "jumpy" scenes are so fake I laughed.. 2 stars.. completely unimpressed, and I always love Alison Lohman too..
This Is macabre fun at its very best, lurching from wild laughs to beautifully choreographed scares like a locomotive threatening to leave the tracks....The objective of this film is simple. Build tension. Scream. Reveal scary thing. Scream. Relieve tension. Laugh. And start all over again.... And It works in spades!!
If your in the mood for a demented film thats thrilling and hilarious then this is the movie for you. And you will have a great time with it. Just don't expect anything serious!! because this movie doesn't take itself seriously at all, its just a superb piece of twisted hokum at its finest 5/5 10/10
i was in the mood to see a horror flick and decided on this one tonight..in the first 10 minutes was a scene so ridiculous it was funny.. as the movie progressed, I found it had a really good mix of humor and scenes that made me jump..I liked this movie..anyone who misses the point that it was made to be this way will miss probably not like it..8/10..
Sam Raimi did a great job on this, it had plenty of suspense and a few gross out parts and a few funny parts. If you liked "The Evil Dead" trilogy then you will prolly like this.. Raimi seemed to be channeling old school Horror/Comedy from the 80's and 90's (A few scenes reminded me of a "Frightners" and "Death Becomes Her" type of feel to it)..

My only problem was that the ending was way too perdictable.. It was a vintage Horror move though, thinking everything is perfect only to have it twisted right before the end.. Besides that this is a 5 star movie..
ORPHAN.. WAS A GREAT MOVIE.. SOME JUST KNOW GREAT MOVIes WHEN THEY WATCH THEM..LOL! I DIDENT SEE DRAG ME TO HELL ON HERE BUT WATCHeD IT ON A DIFFERENT SITE & YES IT WAS A GREAT MOVIE & HAD A COUPLE FUNNY PARTS.. ORPHAN & DRAG ME TO HELL GET 10/10 FROM ME!
this movie was not bad intill the ending even though you could tell it was made by a comic book guy cause the blood looked very fake it was still not bad till the end

now i understand why they did this but please come on do we have to leave every movie open for a 2nd part in this case the guy trying to someone how get down to hell i just dont really think it is nescerry but all in all a movie that is worth a watch i will give it 5 stars out of 10
everything I expected from the director of the evil dead trilogy, totally awesome, funny as hell too, great gore gags, I was rolling on the floor at that part in the car, just as funny as the evil dead movies, watch for the laugh factor. 7/10 for trying to get serious after being hilarious.
This was actually a lot better than I expected. There are some cool scenes that can make you jump and I loved the ending. This is unique because there wasn't really any gore so it relied on suspense and stuff jumping out at you for the scares. It would be much better if it was a 3d movie.
It's between this and 'The Orphan' for worst 'Horror' film this year! 6/10

The lamia in greek mythology was a queen of Libya who had children with Zeus. Zeus's missus killed her kids so she went insane and started eating children. This is nothing like the lamia in the film. I have got this info off the internet in five minutes and a movie production team couldn't even be bothered to research this!
On my opinion "the Orphan" was a terrible movie.. no offense to anybody who liked it, that's just the way i feel. But this movie was rather good up until a certain part for me, then i lost all interest in it.
This is just classic Raimi to the bone..I got a really good deal on this movie for 5 bucks new and I was pleased with the purchase I made..I think the newer generation is more adjusted to the Torture aspect of horror these days and just don't know the good old glory days of evil dead..which this movie had a large amount in common with..either way the effects were good..the acting was well enough to enjoy and the sound track was nice..all in all a own for any Raimi lover..4/5..3.5/5 for gore/ graphicness..a few scenes were nice and made me slightly cringe..live it..love it..own it..
what other reason could there have been for the scene with her losing the envelope and then finding it again in the car, other than that she'd picked up the wrong one
It's virtually a remake of an old black and white movie called 'Curse Of The Demon' except the maguffin was a letter instead of a button. The premise and the ending are identical. OK in parts and reasonably entertaining.
Ok, what a lot of people don't seem to get is that THIS IS NOT A HORROR MOVIE. It's as much a horror movie as Army Of Darkness is. The movie was simply to entertain and make the watcher have fun. I've gotta say that I did indeed have fun and it gave me a nostalgia-gasim as it was very reminiscent of the old Evil Dead movies. Sam Raimi and his brother are amazing film directors/writers.
If you like a light-hearted, laughably gross, entertaining movie you'll love this!
5/5. 9/10. Worth the watch but don't expect "The next best horror movie."

This is a horror movie like it was said everywhere. What I cant understand is that, how do people not find this movie thrilling? Maybe different watch experience. Thats gotta be it. You should try watching movies in different situation. For horror, try watching it alone and dark after midnight. Always after midnight!
