I am so tired of seeing Asian characters played by those who are not when the are plenty of great Asian actors, Americans have to grow up, this reminds me of Kung-fu because they feared that Americans would not accept any Asians as actors. They did the something in the upcoming movie the Prince of Persia with the main male as a Caucasian American guy, and the main female as a Caucasian English women, This is part of the problem we have here in America we refuse to learn about and respect other peoples and their cultures, they are just people who we have a language barrier with.
Just think if we understood each other we just might get rid of there dumb wars once and for all. But hey why bother if you do not mind your children being used as cannon fodder, we can keep it as it is being afraid because you don't understand one another, why have our business taking the time to understand others cultures, but not the lazy people of our country!

it's not dragonball, but it was enjoyable for something to mellow out to. I liked it. i'll give it an 8/10 but in comparison to dragonball it's self.. well number one i didn't watch the original cartoons..i came in on DBZ..but even still when comparing it..well..it doesn't really haha
I am a big fan of the DB series, but I still really liked the movie, despite the fact that the movie broke from the original so much. To be honest though, I didn't expect it to be close at all. It is a movie adaptation, so the chances of it being anything like what it is based off of are very small. Th movie never really even claimed to be the same as the anime, which is probably why they added "Evolution" onto the title. Besides, some of the important things were kept. I personally hope they make a sequel, especially since

they had Piccolo survive
(which is exactly what most people probably expected to happen).
It was not bad for sure, interesting casting and CG, but it was not that good either.. it was an ok movie.. wich is a misery becouse it had everything to be a fantastic film!
We are talking about dragonball Z, one of the most seen animes ever!!.. so for this reason and the disrespect of everything atached to it.. it was trully an horrible film, and trully painfull to be seen by DG fans.
For non fans i think it´s a good movie, lots of CG and action..
Having that said i think this anime deserved a harry potter and twilight kind of production becouse it´s so popular.. for one side i´m happy becouse it was not a regular korean film, with cheap and exagerated CG or stupid fight scenes, in the other side it was not a hollywood production, so i guess we lost the point.. and that´s the problem.. this film does not have identity.. it´s not a woman it´s a not man.. it´s a travesti..
id like to see another movie when goku and vegeta fights thatd be great or skip to the freeza saga and introduce the spirit bomb and who knows maybe in the future it will have majin buu but other than that good movie needed some comedy in the form of krillin or the pig guy
not bad, different for a stephen chow movie. I see some peolple getting pretty worked up about this one. really its not anymore stupid than the cartoon is.
its simple if you like/love dragon ball/dbz/dbgt do not watch this movie no matter how bad u want to and if u havent seen the cartoon dont watch this either ;)

i have watched practically all DBZ series. this was incredibly a waste of time.
this is a very insulting film for everyone who are or are not avid fans.

listen the film is not supposed to have the same story line as db or dbz it was film that would bring new comers in to the series it was a promotion movie for the cartoon and they wanted to do a different story because if they used the same one it would be to long and fans would just boo it because if they make one mistake all you dbz hard core fans would conplain about it so please shut the .. up god DAMNIT

I have watched DBZ for yrs really am a big fan.. after all these yrs and now they have started to do the real movies is great! The movie was great.. could have been better tho.. just cant wait till they make the other1s just hope they dont take to long about them :)..
first of all they only showed Piccolo head tru out the hol movie cuz he was in his uniform so dunno wa the hell u dumb fuCcZ r sayin..an second dis movie was kinda shiity cuz itz not made by the creater of the DB/DBZ/DBGT cartoon so i give it a 3.5/5..the .. who play ChiChi an Bulma r sexy styll so i change my rate to a 4/5
I didn't start watching DB an DBZ till the latter of my years with my youngest, so I wasn't to thrilled about the cartoon and how badly fillers can kill it, but this movie.. just rubbish. Even my son thought it was trash, and hes a huge DB fan.
i thought i would hate this film because i hate cgi movies then slowly it got under my skin and in a sick way i enjoyed watching this movie it might be because it was very funny almost like a comedy action so i would recommend this film to young kids and children i am not sure about grown ups enjoying this film
To say this film is loosely based off the Dragon Ball franchise is an understatement; it barely has a connection. Each character is off; the closest one would have to be Yamcha.

They even left out Krillin, a main character, as well as a few minor characters such as Puar and Oolong. Goku during this time period was NOT 18, nor did he have any interest in girls.
Simply put, this film is for people who have never heard of the Dragon Ball franchise, hands down.

This movie couldn't be any worse and i mean it its so bad i couldn't go on after the first 20 minutes i am a huge DB and DBZ fan and this movie was quite obvious not made for DB fans,the story line is incorrect although a few aspects of the movie do go according to the series the majority make this movie a failure so bad that i don't even know how other people are even willing to rate it.yet again another DB movie dissapointment ive yet to see a good enough Dragon ball movie that i can sit thrue and finish.
what people need to understand is that in dragonball. goku couldnt fly and he didnt have all his teching yet.. it wasnt until he died and came back after him and piccalo killed Radits is when goku was gettin to his peek and he could change to his kaokain.. i been watch dragonball ever since it first came out. and thats before it was even on t.v.. i think how they did this movie, it has more potental for about 4 to 6 more movies.. for them to do that they would have to follow the Dragonball Z sequal.. they would have to follow the radits saga, and the vageta saga at the same time. that would have to be all in one and they must turn goku to his kaokan form.. that is very cridical.. for the third movie. they would have to go to namic and turn goku to a super saiyen which also so cridical and it would have to be all about the friza saga and end starting the cell saga.. for the fourth movie which would be the cell saga they would have to have everyone there from trucks, to teen gohan, to tien and choe sue, to yamcha and vegeta.. all those people are a must to be in the forth movie.. ending the forth movie with the buu saga.. but to start the buu saga is so long that they would have to make that movie 2 to 3 hours long.. they also must turn goku to his super saiyen 3 form wich is soo cridical and have trucks and goten learn and do the fusion.. they would have to follow so much but it could happen.. or i could be just hopful wishin.. its never impossible!! i give this movie a 4 out of 5 stars..
this movie (from a HUGE DBZ fan standpoint) went completely away from the storyline of the manga and anime..if you like dbz at all, id suggest you spare yourself the time, nothing is right, and i can see from the point of having a low budget, but come on, ive seen better fan made vids on youtube, my point here is this movie was absolutely a horrible mistake, if you dont have the funds, or the talent, or even basic knowledge of the original you are making the movie from, then you just shouldnt make the movie, why waste time and lose money, wait for it get a better cast, more money, and a better well thought out script then try it, dont just jump into it, i give this a 0.5/10..and that is stretching it..
I'm a big DB franchise fan, and well if i look at it from that point this movie was garbage, if you don't know DB then i hope you are at least 5 years old if not you wont like it. I don't know how Akira Toriyama sign for this garbage, maybe he needed the money.
