Seen that a million times. This story is so much like Stand By Me, Green Mile and The Shining, mixed in a blender, I'd think the writer was ripping off Stephen King, if it was written by anyone other than Stephen King. Didn't really have that much to do with dreamcatchers. They'd made one when they were kids or something, and it was such a minor element, but I guess the story had to be named something, and they couldn't call it
that was different from other Stephen King movies -at least to me- nonetheless a great movie worth watching 3/5. one more reason to hate snakes and worms
this movie could of being something,,after the first 45 minutes,,it lost me,,a complete mess of a movie,how in the hell did this rate so high,,come on people,just because its by stephen king doesnt meen you have to be nice to it.1.5/5

Stephen King can do great, but here I see his typical way of coming up with a great idea, and then dragging his story into the weeds (like he did for Christine).
I also find it disrespectful to the Native Americans to take a great object and symbol like the dreamcatcher and to co-opt it for some shlocky horror mess.

I cannot help but watch this movie at least once a year. It is such a weird/action movie. Steven King’s movies/books are always my favorites. This is such a strange movie with a strange concept toward the “Alien” situation. Those creature do not play fair they can sure ruin you day/life/friends/etc.
That about sums up this movie in a word. Ridiculous. It starts of weird and goes into major WTF. But if you like the cheesy end of Stephen King (Storm of the Century schlock), maybe you'll like this.. 1/5
THE BOOK IS WAAY BETTER. THIS MOVIE IS ABOUT 100 PAGES OF A 300 PAGE BOOK. WHAT BOTHERS MEN WHEN THEY MAKE THESE BOOKS INTO MOVIES IS THAT THEY LEAVE OUT ALL THE SMALL STUFF BECAUSE THEY THINK IT WON'TMATTER WHEN IN ACTUALITY, IT'S A LOT OF THE SMALL STUFF IN THESE BOOKS THAT MAKE IT WHAT IT IS..THIS MOVIE IS HORRIBLE COMPARED TO THE JUMPS AND SPOOKS AND LAUGHS AND JOLTS THE BOOK WILL GIVE YOU!
this is the same old song and dance, MOVIES ARE NEVER AND DETAILED AS THE BOOKS! The movie would be like 8 hours long. Take the movie for what it was and write a review.
I personally haven't read the book which I'm sure is better than the movie.
Nevertheless I still enjoy the movie every time I watch it.
I think the story could have been worked on a bit more though.
Recommended for Stephen King and scifi fans alike.
I heard somewhere that this movie was soo good,so i bought it and i totally hated it!
The beggining was good,then it turned into a total load of ..!

Very dissapointing, so much so, that I'd advise those of you that want the true story of Dreamcatcher, to read the book first. They hacked this movie all to h*ll, very uncouth.
I agree this movie is like 100 pages of that 300 page book! where the hell is the rest if the story! the book scared me outloud, the movie put me to sleep half way through. no where as near as exciting as the book, a true page turner. I am very disappointed but then again, nobody has yet to successfully turn Stephen Kings Books into movies except the SHining.
this is the best adaptation i have seen of kings movies the action is non stop story is out of this universe and i mean that i was suprise to see so many great actors in this movie and they done a hell of a job one of the best si-fi to date it was bit gorey btu to show true nature of the creature it had to be done directing was very very good it was not a full action film never meant to be but still there was lots to keep you going i can not even begin to imagine such things in this story line how things fitted like a puzzle pieces one by one then the ending came all the pieces fitted in there is lot more to say but i leave it to all horror fans to decide if you love king dont miss this one
