You have to see Ed Wood movies through Ed Wood's eyes to appreciate the mastery. You don't notice the shaking wall or carpet grass and cardboard tombstones falling over or the octopus that doesn't move on its own, if you are enthralled by the wonders of imagination. It's like when you used to play with action figures, you didn't see the bad paintjob, balljoints and mold lines. The poor guy presumed we all still saw the world of wonder through a hazy eyed dream state. That we don't is our misfortune, not his.
This film is an absolute classic. Everything about the film is perfect. I love the way it keeps a fine balance between comedy and drama. Some great performances, especially Jonny Depp. It really is an ensemble cast. I think this is one of Tim Burtons best films. A classic 5/5
Talk about a movie that is all about never giving up on your hopes and dreams. It's truly become a cult classic..much like Mr. Ed Wood himself. A wonderful movie.
quite strange i've started it but going to watch the rest later. so far quite strange but the only movie i know that portrays a bio of someone's eccentric failures. so we'll see..

I've seen this movie a few times now and am adding it to my playlist as I will more than likely watch it again.
It tells the story of (in)famous Hollywood Movie director Ed Wood, some people think the movie is boring, well it is in black and white and filmed in this style to keep the authenticity and style of the era and of Wood's films and is very much in keeping with this.
The acting may seem over the top but does go to show the exentricity of Wood, and some of those close to him. Maybe not oneof the greatest movies or Biographical movies but still should be ranked up amongst the best. 5/5

OK, I have almost flipped outta my chair watching this! I mean, duh! If you've seen Charlie and the Chocoalte Factory, you can absolutely see the similarities in their voices and expressions (I mean between Willy Wonka and Ed Wood). Besides that, Depp has used the Tin Man to create Ed's character and used Mr Rogers (from the kids' show) for Willy Wonka! It gives me the chills just thinkin' about it.
This film is a one-in-a-million production! You don't see every day a film production portraying the failure life of a fil producer-director-actor. Depp has outdone himself in this one, way before proclaiming his now-known fame and Burton has assured himself an honoured seat in the names of the best directors/producers of all times.
Never thought I'd like bio-pics, but I do love this one! :-)

Seriously, I, too, loved LUGOSI!! I absolutely love Landau as an actor.. well, I love old male actors in general, but that doesn't count.. right? I think that Burton's films in general are quite bold and stick it up to what many people call good film (which in most cases, isn't).. I'm glad I can finally say something about what I think of his directing.. which is awesome, btw. You should see Edward Scissorhands, that was one of my faves of all time!! I could watch it dozens of times and never get bored!!

i love johnny depp.pretty good cast.good acting,although this movie couldnt hold my attention.the movie is pretty bland.the description was intriguing,but the film was just dull. :Z
i would enjoy seeing johnny depp in womens clothing that much. ^_^ its a great movie and johnny did FANTASTIC!! deffinatly one of my favorites tim burton gets major kudos for this film
My favorite Depp/Burton collaboration film. I couldn't believe how funny it was! I don't get why it's rated R, it just says a couple bad words, nothing big. I suggest this to everyone, because what's nto funny about Johnny Depp wearing women's clothing?!?!

the kinda people that love depp and burton whats eating gilbert grape basketball diaries - loads of growing up movies breakfast club to natual born killers and pulp fiction - but i just cant seem to get into this one at all i dont think its very interesting i dont see the bug deal here- what a bore
This movie was great. The cast was perfect, the story was perfect, and the use of older technology to make the film really completed it. I liked it. And it was a little too long, just like all the good old movies. A little too long is a good thing.
