Yes, the entire nation of Argentina didn't want a 'slut' to act as the role of one of their greatest national figures. But she did a good job and put her heart into the role.
I remember when I was un poco, this movie was always on, always. I used to run around the house in my nighty with my teddy bear screaming "Don't cry for me Argentina!" And often got scolded for being so loud. But the music was heavenly to me. I loved every part of it. And I don't know what you people mean when you say she isn't a good actress, I always get so absorbed in the movie that I forget it's not my own reality. But that may just be because I have one amazing imagination! :P
I loved this movie when I was younger but now I think it's boring. Maybe you would like it if you only watched it once..or because musicals are real popular these days. And this one is DEFINETLY a musical.
