Poor acting by all and the special effects were even worse. What a joke of a movie. It does nothing to convince me this may even be remotely real in this movie. Leigh acts like she is on drugs the whole movie too. She's a terrible actress. I can't believe it is rated so high.
Can't say anything else besides it is a great movie. Acting is a little squishy at times, but it adds to the overall theme. Has no remorse about playing with your head.
I'm gonna quote a poem that best describes the plot of this film:
"Upon the back of every flea is another flea to bite him.
And on his back, another flea and on to infinitum"
This film has a very deep and dark plot that leaves the viewer confused.
It's not for anyone with an IQ less than 95 or an attention span of 20 minutes.
For those of you who like to question reality and are interested in quantum physics and fractal geometry it's a must see.
Not your average Sci-Fi.
Not Just A Another Virtual Reality Trip, This Film Has Teeth
all to often the concept of virtual reality has been far to heavily relient on computer generated imigery, this is an exception to that rule and is far superior as a consiquence. the world is realised vividly with very tangable props

it is a bit of a gore fest in a way but its highly well made and the virtual world is more real than anything else i have seen n film, this film has a genuine sense of danger about it and asks some very deep questions about the nature of whats real, and hints to a future probably much closer in acuracy than say the matrix for example, its a very diferant kind of film to that and definatly much more of a thinkers piece of entertainment. the ending is utterly superb

when that guy says "is this real" i was literally haunted by that line for hours
3/3 for acting 2.5/3 for story 3/3 for entertainment and 0.5/1 for spark of genius.. overall 9/10
may be good, may not be, but i refuse to watch anything on yuko man..2 hour move takes 8 - 8 hours to watch.. u might as well download it.. such a pointless site to have in this day

If it only has 1 part, Open 5 or 6 tabs and leapfrog
the loaded parts. 5 Minutes at a time
works well for me.
This is only if you really Must see a particular movie!

The idea itself is interesting, yet not new or too ingenious. Then the way the acting, the plot and the imagery is realized, lacks inspiration, I recon. The idea is OK, but as a movie it failed to deliver for me. The subject is more fit to be adapted in a novel than a movie, and if a movie is necessarily something that must be made on these trains of thought, I'd choose a whole lot of a different approach.
Great movie - well acted and great story. There are some gory scenes with the "devices" but it adds to the feeling of disgust you should have while watching.
I freakin' love this movie! I'm a huge JJL fan, and saw this movie back when I was like 16. Super obscure, you may need to watch it several times to even try to understand it, but it's funny and keeps you guessing.. I love it..
Wow now that was something to make you think twice and then think about it again.. 5/5 for the show and 4/5 for the actors and Jennifer jason leigh for her role with Jude law. That is what you call a game to get involved with. Marvelous casting and I would watch the movie for the third time again. The show was great..
I have been looking for this movie forever. I was quite young when I first watched it. It's a strange movie, but it I thought it had a pretty good story line.
It does get a bit confusing, but you just have to try and pay attention to it constantly. The ending definitely threw me off, but this is not your average sci-fi movie and Judd Law is in it, a favorite of mine.
This gem of a movie is directed by David Cronenberg, time-honored veteran of a different kind of horror/sci-fi/fantasy movies. Different maybe because he's Canadian and not the Hollywood run-of-the-mill type of film maker.
He brought us such varied and fascinating movies as Naked Lunch, Dead Ringers, Videodrome (with Debbie Harry, lead singer of Blondie), The Fly, The Brood, , A History of Violence, M. Butterfly, etc.
Here is an exploration on the nature of Reality, a tad dark and confusing at times, but just because you need to pay more attention to the story than to your average sci-fi movie.
Highly recommended.
