I just watched this for a second time and i am still amazed how perfect this movie is . Great job on acting and the storyline was great i rated it 5 out of 5 stars .
Hopkins is fantastic as usual and manages to recapture some of his old Lector menace .
The two leads are on fine form, but the surrounding story structure is very familiar to a thousand other movies. But still, this is very tense and twisty stuff.
this film crackles and is at its very best when ever the two male leads share screen time
i give this 9/10 good movie ..and i agree with the other peoples views the ending does feel wrong . but its still an excellent movie
Smart plot, amazing performance by Sir Anthony Hopkins. I didn't find the ending satisfactory though.

Hopkin's character was the only likeable one..the rest were annoying and arrogant - a man who beds married women, an unfaithful wife and a self-obsessed lawyer. Who cares for such people to begin with? I would have much preferred a different outcome at the end

Although I'm rating the film 4/5 purely because of Sir Anthony's acting/role, I'm doubtful that I'd watch this again.
I agree, the ending shudve been different, but Im still giving this movie 5/5. Anthony Hopkins was excellent as always, he portrays the character so well. I can't think of anyone else but him for this role. He's simply amazing.
I agree. I was uncertain at first, as the story began with a very simple and overused premise, but it quickly sped up and became much more interesting.

Of the only two characters who had a large part in the story, Sir Anthony's character had a fascinating personality, and for the self-obsessed lawyer, well, at least he went through an emotional transformation throughout the course of the film. No quick sudden dramatic reversal, but a nice slow progression as the murderer really hurt the lawyer's pride and made a mockery of his profession.
I think all parts of this were very well done. Oh, and very nice avatar image by the way, Yesterday.
Good one.
One thing I really like is that the movie starts in a way, like many other movies would end. The only thing I found weak, was the fact that I could finish the case after 10 minutes. It was too predictable.

U got 2 guns n the House. One from the officer and one from the murderer. The one from the murderer turns out to be never fired. Now whats the logic consequence?
This is one of those movies that keeps u guessing.
It was greatly done. Nothing dramatic, no over the top special effects.
Nothing but a decent script, decent acting, and a great deal of suspense.
I loved this movie..mainly because I was thrown off the whole time.

YESS!! I loved this movie! Anthony Hopkins is an amazing actor. I just love how he can get into your mind and twist everything up till the very end. Awesome movie with the best ending. Definately reccomended watch 10/10*
BRILLIANT. See THIS MOVIE is exactly I watch Anthony Hopkins movies. He's cold blooded, clever, very clever these roles he plays.. full of suspense, but hey man, You Clever Smart A** !! You F** your own self this time, lol, hahaha! i wanted you to get smacked!!
watching gosling made my eyes bleed.. if it werent for Hopkins, id never have watched this. anyway, the movie is a DRAAG.. it cld have been shorter and more intense. the story was excellent though..
