A great and unique movie, rich in content. Whitaker is the most simpatico hitmen I have ever seen. This is at once an action movie, a human interest story, and a manual on how to be an efficient but honorable assassin. The beautiful and bright little girl, the garrulous but incomprehensible Haitian ice cream vendor,the sociable pigeons, the dog who stares, and the avenged bear all add pathos to what is far more than a tale of gangsters. It just struck me that I can't remember hearing the eff word even once, which sometimes
comprises up to a fifth of the dialogue - very unusual these days. (10/10)
Okay..this movie was good, but..its was kinda cheesy at times. Most the humor I could see being a B-movie, and there were scenes where nothing important happened for, like, 3 minutes.
Otherwise, it was a good movie, the motivation and plot were a little weak, but it was still alright.

i see it as a perfect ten..and forest whitaker's performance was amazing throught the entire movie. i'd definitely reccommend this movie to anyone who would appreciate this particular type of movie. as a side note..it's hard to describe how great this movie is without spoilers.
Hadn't seen this in about 8 years around when it first came out so it was time for a reviewing. Forrest Whittaker has always been a great actor since coming on the scene back in the Fast Times At Ridgemont High days. Fitting that Wu was on the soundtrack, and Rza had a small roll. Just up their alley..
Nothing of what I thought it would be this turned out to be a very good movie the pace, the direction of the story enjoyed this very much my feelings is this is one of the rare one's. A must see film my highest rating of 10.
