Rarely does a film move me so much, but this one really tugged at my heart. I felt for each of the characters, the acting was AMAZING. Jolie & Ryder really seemed to have a genuine friendship and I loved that. This just seemed so real..so many people have gone through situations in this film so watching it was like a glimpse into someone elses life. I would give this movie a 5/5..Watch it!
Thw cast was really good but i didnt like the story,.,i know its a real one and the writter is still alive,,But i just didnt got it,.,it was smthing weird about it..
SERIOUSLY, you didnt GET it?! .. How can you say that you didn't 'get' it or 'got ' it in ur case.. its clean cut and straight forward if you open up a little.. Well you must be Blessed All Around.. and perhaps didn't UNDERSTAND or RELATE to it.. but all situations/issues portrayed simulate what could be called a harsh truth/reality for many, whether past, present, familial.. there is no 'getting it' .. its just being compassionate to the truth of many..
anyone who is questioning who they are and why they are, should watch this. gives you some things to think about.
this was angelina jolies best film, brittany murphy was brilliant 'assholes', and winona ryder as always is truly believable. 5 out 5, two thumbs up, and any more rating cliches you can think of.
Populated with sexy stars and a tastefully furnished madhouse, Girl, Interrupted may well do for asylums what Top Gun did for the Air force
Coming on like Charlie's Angels Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, James Mangold's intelligent, engaging adaptation of Susanna Kaysen's real-life memoir offers a fresh spin on movie asylum cliches thanks to a spirited cast and a refreshing resistance toward heartstring pulling and obvious preaching.
The girls bond (though never in a sickly way) yet this is never as cute as you might think, Mangold always injecting the proceedings with a slight, distinctly anti-Tinseltown edge.
Jolie is on fire as the wild child who knows exactly how to push everyone else's buttons while staying firmly in control of her own. Yet in many ways it is Ryder's movie, etching a journey from confusion to clarity that is both believable and moving.
This film is amongst the best psychological watches made, Angelina Jolie won much praise for her part and rightly so, but they all did a fantastic job.
With a well layed out script and dialogou broadcasting the diversity of mental illness it's not hard to see why many psychology (and none psychology) students would relish in this, i have not read the book but have been told it is just as good. The other advantage to this film is that it is based on true events..4/5
Really a great movie,I havent had the chance on reading the book which I know their always better,All actresses played their roles well.I would deffinetly watched it again!5/5
