Wow, truly a movie to be appreciated. Anthony Hopkins plays Hannibal Lecter so well, that a part of you is in awe of his genius capabilities, rooting for him, the other part of you just makes you despise him to no end. A unique class of criminal, I can tell you that no other criminal will ever come close to being a Dr. Hannibal Lecter. A chilling movie from start to finish, and you just grip your seat in shock, in admiration. One of the best movies I will ever see in my lifetime.
I thought the ending was so fitting, that I am afraid to say any more about it, lest I give it away.
[SPOILER]
That brain crap was disgusting, I gave a couple coughs, then almost heaved when he fed Paul's brain to himself. At the end to when he shared some of it to the little Asian boy.
I am now on a mission to find that wonderful opera music that was playing throughout the movie, truly a wonderful piece to listen to.
Definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good psychological thriller.
Rate 10/10, if ratings could go higher and still count, trust me, 10 would be pitiful. Adding to my thriller playlist, some of the best thrillers to be seen. Check out my other playlists too, the best of the best from every genre. Watch and rate, thanks :)
P.S. I highly recommend everyone to see Silence of the Lambs before this one, it only makes the viewing experience better as it sets you up for what to expect from this movie, and from there this movie will only continue to exceed your expectations.
Also everyone use #4, StageVu, the best quality to watch in, worth the maybe 45 min load, just let it load while you do something else, be done in no time. Cheers and enjoy! :)
Not only did you give a very intelligent (rare) and inspiring review to this movie, but you also took the time to consider all the viewers after you and comment on which link is the best to view..
I wish more people were like you on these types of sites, if there were I know for a fact the internet would be a MUCH better place. Thank You :)
truly a classic, Dr. Hannibal Lecter character is fascinating, evil genius, calm, crafty and above all a character which have a understanding of human psychology as seen in this movie, he can easily temper and manipulate the situation to his likening . Dr. Hannibal character is beautiful performed by Anthony Hopkins. A must watch movie to understand the criminal mind of a genius. 5/5
I HATE YOUKU , why is it even on this site IT NEVER EVER WORKS. It is soo frustrating because youko has a lot of movies I want to see and it never works , ever !! Just ban them , stop teasing us . GRR

Because even people in Cali or Texas, it wont work for them either. And I'm all the way in NY.
It's crazy. But I'm really dieing to see this movie! SO pleasse if it's possible, post some good links. Thank you :)
Excellent follow-up to "The Silence of the Lambs." Good storyline, a great cast which inclues two of my favourite actors (Anthony Hopkins & Gary Oldman), and some nice gore scenes towards the end of the film.
[SPOILER]
The brain eating scene was awesome..
I was a bit concerned about Agent Starling being played by someone other than Jodie Foster, but Julianne Moore turned out to be quite brilliant.
Good stuff..5/5 stars.
Yea the gore and the way Anthony Hopkins plays these parts so well is amazing love it.. That's not what does it for me though what I really like is..
[SPOILER]
How Hannibal is this crazed man for human flesh.. But he can't help his self for being so fond of the one person/woman that's always tracking him to put him away. The scene I really like when he shows his love for her is when there in the barn with the boars. Of course she came to save his life and he ended up saving hers as well. He always takes care of her in some way or another. Even the end when it was his hand or hers, he didn't cause her any harm Wow! The way she deals with him it's as if shes broken and needs him in some sort of sick way. Shes never lonely he makes sure of that lmao.
Yeah, that's true. And another thing.. the real ending (in the book) goes like this.
[SPOILER]
When Dr. Lecter saves her life, he takes her with him to a house where he takes care of her. While he talks with her about her past, her father, the lambs etc., there is a romance between them. Starling don't want to escape. In some sick way, she needs him.
In the brain-eating scene she is not scared but enjoying the brain and having a nice conversation. (very sick.)
3 years later, the black guy (don't remember his name now, but the one who took care of dr. Lecter when he was captured) is in Buenos Aires with his girlfriend at the opera. To his shock, he finds Clarice Starling and Dr. Lecter at the same place. He comes to the conclusion that it's best to leave them alone and continues his travel around the world with his girlfriend (or wife, I don't remember that much.)
Anyway, very sick, twisted and evil ending by Thomas Harris.
Great movie. It's pretty long and I thought it was dragging some of the times but it was pretty well done.
[SPOILER]
When Hannibal served the brain for dinner - that was the best and grossest part. Then he feeds it to the little Asian boy at the end, ugh, how disgusting!
Hannibal the Cannibal is very sophisticated - I couldn't help feeling a little bit on his side which is totally wrong, I know. The Verger man was very nasty to look at which goes to show the make-up was well done. Overall, a great addition to the Hannibal Lector series.
then it is red dragon ,which i cant find any links for (not just on this site but other too before any admins jump down my throat) and the last film is hannibal rising, but that is a sequal
here is the list of the hannibal lecter series in chronological order: Manhunter, silence of the lambs, hannibal, red dragon, and last but not least, hannibal rising..
this movie was too much like silence of the lambs - except that was a million times better then this however - worth a watch once if you have nothing better to do.
very tasty! definitely the best hannibal-movie! anthony hopkins is playing brillant the role of the psychiatrist hannibal lecter! the movie is exciting, has got an interesting plot and there are some spectecular murders! my absolute favourite movie.. because of that of course 10/10!
Can someone please post one up? I loved Hannibal Rising and Silence of the Lamb and i really want to watch this one. I hear good reviews for this and how the blood pumps like crazy when you watch this, so yeah, i want that thrill lol.
As with all the films directed by Ridley Scott, this too is brilliant! I especially like how well crafted the character of Hannibal Lecter is, his elegance, and his proper ways..I especially enjoyed the scene in which he writes to Clarice, using an inkwell and nib pen, and his pinky finger bearing that delicate saphire ring extended in an elegant gesture of decorum and good breeding as he sips his tea from a silver demitasse' at the outdoor cafe..
it makes you almost want to love him..but then there's that whole brain frying thing! LOL..
