Don Cheadle stars in the true-life story of Paul Rusesabagina, a hotel manager who housed over a thousand Tutsis refugees during their struggle against the Hutu militia in Rwanda.
A very sad yet inspirational drama based on true events during the Rwandan genocide of 1994. The story is like an African Schindler's List, and Don Cheadle is superb in an Oscar nominated performance.
What else was there 2 feel..could u have stopped it? If U could would you have given your life and family again for the next in line or would U take the opposition? I dont think this requires a spoiler but feel free to do so!
This genocide could have been stopped virtually overnight, without any war or long term grief for us. This was a completely different situation to Somalia, but American losses in that conflict meant another intervention was not an attractive proposition politically so they and France used their UN vetos to stop any action.
Teachers of gr 12 world issue class just made us watch this movie, ,,not bad, i didn't really like it though, seriously why didn't the tutsi people fight back from the begining, gosh would of saved alot more lives, lol UN shoulda shot on sight, ITs like what russell peter said " lol god - ok black ppl come over for a sec,, now everyones gonna be screwing with u for the next few centuries, heres a bit more .. " lol haha i guess now its even
yet each time I cry, which is unusual for me. To think what these people suffered.. this movie came much too late to save the millions, which is unfortunate. Yet it is something that once you see, you will never forget.
If you haven't seen it, definitely worth a watch if you can stand the sight of blood.

they were on the list to leave and paul jumps out and leaves his wife and children to help the rest
. what a selfless and strong man..I'm not sure I could have done what he did. He risked his life for people he barely knew..he put everything on the line. Truely a hero in my book. Watch this movie because it's amazing ..I couldn't say enough good things about it.
This is an international movie. The movie was taken from the real events. This is such an excellent movie. I recommend you to watch blood Diamond, they are kinda similar to this movie. Maybe the plot of both movies will be different. But you are gonna see gunfight, rebels and other stuff.
This is definitely one of the best movies, I have ever seen. It was a truly emotional movie and it really says something about what we should do in Darfur.
This is a pretty depressing movie. But it's also a really well played out one. This is a movie everyone should enjoy. Shows you the conditions Africa is in. wow.

it was a genocide alright..but they made less fuss about it in the news than about some airplane with a few americans or europeans in it crashing into a mountain..messed up planet we live on.
this was a great movie no doubt about.. but what we understand is this is some bodies life that we are seeing through his eyes.. i feel the movie should also been seen through the eyes of his wife and children as well as all the people who stayed in the hotel during the crisis. but anyway thats hollywood..
What a film..You would need to be on another planet if you are old enough to know about what happend in Rwanda but don't. The film makes me so angry about how the world allowed these people to die but thats another story.
Don Cheedle and Nick Nolte played their parts really well and the story shows how selfless some people can be. The film needs to be seen by everyone..9/10
YOU KNOW WHAT MADE ANGRIER IS THE FACT THAT AFTER THIS GENOCIDE EVERY SINGLE GOUVERNEMENT SAID THAT THEY SHOULD DO SOMETHING, AND THAT EVERYTHING HAPENNED TO FAST..
THE PROBLEM IS THIS GENOCIDE NEVER SPOT IT JUST CROSSED THE BORDER IN CONGO
WITH 5 TIMES MORE DIES THAN IN RWANDA EVERYBODY STILL DON'T GIVE A SH..T ABOUT THIS!!
I don't usually do drama, war, or biographical movies but this one definitely broke the mold. This was an excellent film and very touching. The graphic nature of the film really brought the struggle back to life. This is a must see!
