In Nazi-occupied France during World War II, a group of Jewish-American soldiers known as "The Basterds" are chosen specifically to spread fear throughout the Third Reich by scalping and brutally killing Nazis. The Basterds soon cross paths with a French-Jewish teenage girl who runs a movie theater in Paris which is targeted by the soldiers.
What an unusual story! I would personally describe this as "dark humor" and I happen to like dark humor. I could throw in a few little criticisms but in the end my recommendation would be WATCH THIS (if you like dark comedy). But wait till the kids go to bed.
A great motion picture of World War II that was more like a suspense spy movie. Matt Pitt demonstrated he's more than just a pretty face. As for Christopher Waltz, he can very well win an Oscar for this movie.
Watch for this movie as Best Picture at the Academy Award Oscar ceremony. It has my vote already. Great plot, music, costumes, acting..the whole nine yards. Credit: 10 out of 10.
For the victims, I guess this was a way to see Hitler actually die!
If you think histories report of Adolph Hitler’s suicide and the burning of his body is true, you’re a fool, Hither had millions of soldiers at his command, he conquered just about all of Europe. Some poor soul was killed, his body was burned so that there could not be a positive identification and the dental records were forged…Hitler was the head of state at that time, all administration records were at his disposal.
Reported Jews killed...6 million, but it is believed to be a much lager number!
Total number of US. with allied soldiers who died fighting Hitler’s forces, 2.3 million
Total number of German soldiers killed, 3.3 million.
Total number of civilian deaths, 17 million.
The reason why the Nazis lost the war, is because Hitler tried to occupy multiple territories, thus spreading his troops and defenses’ too abroad.

he spread his army too much and wanted to occupy Russia very fast..but then again..we still had America so..
Or they won't bother seeing it because they just read it in your post. Didn't it occur to you it might not be a good idea to tell everyone the ending in your first sentence?
Also if you think Hitler had 'millions of soldiers at his command' when the Allies were marching on the wreckage of Berlin I think you are the fool. He had about 50,000 and that's being generous. You have absolutely no proof he didn't kill himself, just the usual suspicion and hearsay. These 'he faked his death' theories always skip over the tricky question of how he actually got out of Berlin when it was completely surrounded by Allied forces desperate to get their hands on him. Perhaps he had a fake moustache over his normal one. Or wore sunglasses.
Zigy, Germany lost the war because Herman Goering was a fawning yes man and Hitler believed everything he said. If he hadn't they could have taken Russia and Britain, been first to invent the A bomb and, after nuking Washington and New York, taken America too.
YES Hitler was at a theater that was demolished from a military ambush NO he did not die, he jumped out the window, my grandpa told me the story, he was a cook for the army, look at a few history books and you'll see pictures of him in a wheelchair with a broken leg from the event.
Best film I've seen this year, a solid story with excellent acting, completely fictitious of course, Hitler shot himself, and if you want to comment on Pearl Harbor why you at this film? 10/10 blood soaked stars.
OK, The movie review. I found this to be a decent movie. Kind of an alternate ending to WWII. Maybe be it's not accurate historically as many have pointed out. However, there is a lot of things that the Government has not found necessary for the general public to know. I'm not saying that this is how the events actually took place (for real). I found this movie to have a lot of action and possibilities as to how our men and women really operated while in the war. I would have done the same thing to that German in the end being in the shoes of the Lt.
Now, for the comment that I read about Pearl Harbor. Learn your history, although not taught in the sequence of the movie. A few points to ponder on:
1.- the African American (the cook) on the battle ship that took over the rear gun to shoot down planes. In a time when blacks were not considered "worthy" of firing a gun. HE WAS REAL. HE GOT THE NAVY CROSS. That was a huge move for equality for African Americans in the military service.
2.- two planes were per reports the only ones to get off the ground and shoot down a several Jap Zero's. TRUE FACT.
3.- Col. Dolittle, was a real individual. YES, he trained men to bomb Japan in the planes presented in the movie and taking off air craft carriers.
in short. This was a movie. Enjoy it for what it's worth and make up your own mind.
It wasn't what I was expecting! Which is a totally good thing. I was expecting to be bored out of my mind..not even! I loved every part of it, excellent acting and I really got attached to the "good guys" in the story. The end, was AWESOME.

I liked the movie. The German Jew Hunter was one smart smooth talking s.o.b. The movie had some good comical themes to it as well as some serious themes. 4/5
Not something to stay up until 5am to watch but other then that it had a lot of action. The plot was amazing. The Jewish girls story is the best.

But she was a dum dum for not shooting the German hero in the head. She was watching a movie of the guy defend himself from a 100 soldiers in a tower..just saying.
But the movie was spot on and Torantino did yet another wonderful job!
Most of Quentin Terantino films are revenge movies, this is by far until now his ultimate revenge movie, Brad & Christoph gave great performances both wicked on the verge of camp. Not for everyone, but a must see.
Anyone who watched this terrible excuse for cinema, and actually liked it, should be embarrassed for themselves. This had no direction, was very slow, nothing was clearly developed. One of Tarantino's worst ever. May even be the worst. Shame on the studio who allowed this crap to be shown to the viewing public. And a best picture nomination?! I feel I should be reimbursed for the spectacle I endured, while hoping the whole time, it would somehow get better. Sadly, it did not. 1/5 for decent period costumes. Just BAD!
