A young girl discovers her father has an amazing talent to bring characters out of their books and must try to stop a freed villain from destroying them all, with the help of her father, her aunt, and a storybook's hero.
I'd never heard of Inkheart before and expected it to be a dark (as ink), adult- oriented, fantasy/horror movie. So I was surprised, pleasantly, to find myself watching a pleasant family adventure movie that reminded me a bit of Jumanji.
Not a masterpiece, but very watchable.

I always liked the book and the movie is brilliant too love it great acting and characters. There were well loads of changes if we look at it book to screen but the point is the story was told well I just hope Inkspell and Inkdeath makes it to the big screen as well, the story has just begun and the rest being untold would be a story that cant be totally unfolded which is never good.
It's nothing special. Predictable from beginning to end. The characters were generic. Decent story. Terrible pacing. I was not a big fan. Which is too bad, because I wanted to like this movie.
This was a pretty good movie and sum of the books. It was even better than Eragon the movie. This is a rarity in itself that the movie is as good as the book.
when movie first got posted it had so many negative comments well I caved in and finally watched and just proves you need to form your own opions because I loved it was kinda like adam sandlers "bedtime stories" but with drama ,action , and a love story to boot
That is one of the greatest fantasy/adventure movies I have ever seen. Everyone did an outstanding job telling the story. Completely enjoyable and entertaining.
brendon fraser did a good job as always in this movie i loved it want tobuy now 9/10 only lost 1 point cause started skippng on parts and sound was kind of muffled but was a great movie
Pretty cool movie. It has a magical, adventurous feel to it that makes it really enjoyable to watch. Nonetheless, I would have preferred something a bit less childish. 7.5/10
I really liked this movie. I thought it was very creative and well played out. My daughter and I watched it together and we both loved it. It's definitely a family film and worth the watch. Too bad it didn't get very much noteriety.
