Plot is too slow and boring to finish and dig for double meanings, as was atypical in those totalitarian, heavily censored times when the Russians were imprisoning their poets and exiling their Nobel prize winning authors and physicists!
I watched this and kept watching but i cant explain why to be honest, it does make u laugh at times but that does'nt really make up for the idiotic things that they do when they're presented with chances to get out of their predicament, that said it was an experience but i reckon 90 % of non russian speakers will hate this movie especially those who have short attention spans!
The most unseen and unheard off film ever to have been made in the sci-fi genre. No one knows of it outside of Russia. It is very sad as it will in the future achieve an even greater cult status than it already has amongst true "afficianado's" (read people like me that stumble upon it on the net)
Ahaha grew up in Russia watching this movie and can never get enough. Very good film if you understand Russian, quite a bit of sarcasm is lost in English subtitles :(
