truley genuine adaptation to an old story I was glued to it, I avoided it 5 years ago thinkin ok another medevil story but boy was I wrong ..highly suggest you watch this one
Definitely unconvincing.. maybe it is because I am not american, but I really had the feeling I was watching another US war-movie.
Even if they were wearings armours and carrying swords, I couldn't help seeing US uniforms and machine guns instead.. Maybe it is the way they talk, the way they move, the eternal brothers-in-arms routine of contemporary war movies..
Well.. I wished to be taken away to the middle age, it failed, but I was still in 2010, watching guys with knights costumes going to fight another gulf war or something.. well, maybe next time.

Never thought I'd like this for some reason - it was well done I thought and as the tale of Arthur is so open to personal opinion and many adaptations I thought they did well.. will never be Excalibur but was still a good watch 8/10
I love this movie !! I give it a 5 on a 5 scale with 2 stars. BTW I was looking at the sat. maps of my peoples homeland in Northern England the other night and noticed those forests in the movie are still unsettled and I hope they stay that way.
The first ten minutes drag on and I almost canceled the film..I am glad I didn't.
This must be the best King Arthur version I have ever seen. Some honor and nobility is earned in blood, sweat and held principles.
I enjoyed the loyalty, sense of duty of these knight characters of the round table.
Also, I appreciated the brutal display historic abuse of power of the church
and Roman in the name of God, duty and politics. It was bitter sweet, I believe those that uphold the faith his learned from the errors of dark ages and are not perfect, but better for it.
This is a great stand alone movie. But for it to be based on a "hisorical" Arthur, I just wasn't feeling it. As a period piece I liked it though. Wasn't a super awesome movie, but it was entertaining. I guess I'm just used to the myth, the magic, the romance of Camolot and Arthur.
u should watch the mists of avalon then .. also consider what the viewer calel 08 wrote below - if every human respected others opinions in that sense then the world would be a better place now wouldn't it? ' to each his or her own' rooaarr! =>
I had grown up reading of King Arthur and his Knights. I have seen a few movies of his adventures. I consider this to be a bloody slashed up version, that somehow managed to capture what it was that made King Arthur, his faith and belief in a cause. To each his own that we can make a choice of freewill.. enjoy the movie or not? To each his own..
very good movie..and its lovely to watch beautiful landscapes, mountains and the film gives the viewers a brief introduction of how the british empire evolved.
this has some of the most laboured acting of some great acters who can be really really good in films but just arnt in this. i laughed the whole way through but not at the jokes. the script was over the top, there was almost no dialogue but the tortured stated lines of a film that just doesnt pull it off. the accents were appalling, kiera knighly as a heathen woad talking like shes fresh out of british public school, and the saxon war leader sounding like a texan oil barron. clive owen who is so good at political trillers had me in histerics as i tried to take him seriously galloping around on a white horse. and kiera could have been a wealthy roman lady. her broken fingers heal in about a day. in the battles the same people die over and over because thier arnt enough extras or costumes and generally the whole thing takes itself far to seriously. the lack of suspense, the laboured acting, the unfortunate cast etc this film is for boys ages 12 with delusions of honour and no imagination
Legendray King Authur always makes for a good story. This version is well written, entertaining, and well worth the watch; no matter how many times I've watched it. King Author is Legendary and mythological, this version certainly holds true to that. I like the twists of this version that take you away from the more traditional versions. Great movie on a Grand scale! 5/5
hated it in the cinema, watching it again its ok, 3/5 maybe. battle scenes were too long and drawn out, and conversations and twists were kept to a minimum . the script was often weak, the acters were good but very little good acting was required of them, mostly frowning, and sometimes looking aprehesive or surly. could have been much better. maybe im to big a fan of the legends
very disappointing..the actors were good though..they could definitely decrease the fighting scenes in my opinion..
i guess i just like the stories where merlin is a grey haired wise man and all that..
