Ben Sanderson, an alcoholic Hollywood screenwriter who lost everything because of his drinking, arrives in Las Vegas to drink himself to death. There, he meets and forms an uneasy friendship and non-interference pact with prostitute Sera.
I watched this movie again last night, its been a while
& this movie still rocks. Its so straight forward,

despite their faults. Nick and Elizabeth were great. Good stuff.
Yup! Worth to watch more than once.. but if you're not a sucker for drama, then this one won't leave U teary eyed at the end. One of my all-time faves & will someday be one of the greatest classics in history! :-)
there has not been a movie that nicholas cage has starred in that is a disappointment. this one is no different. he really out did himself in this one.

Fantastic Movie by all cast and crew. A brilliant portrayal of love when you know there isn't time for it to move step-by-step, so to speak. Two people stating they are at ease with each others 'life', yet really, it is eating each of them up inside. Sad as, had Ben met Sera while they bothed lived in L.A. they would have had the chance to walk a completely different path and maybe had a great life together. A lot of terrible things can happen to all of us in this life and we all decide to take it in our own way. Ben took to the bottle and Sera worked for her pimp. Ultimately, decisions we make may or may not be changed. However, the love and support of somebody, especially unconditionally as Sera was for Ben is the penultimate love for two people no-matter their predicament at any time.
Must see movie over and over again. Every time you watch it you pick up on something you missed previously. This may be from emotions or messages. Brilliant portrayal of these two people by two very talented actors. Five stars to Mike Figgis for taking this project by the balls and going with it. Gutsy man. We applaud you, Nic, Elizabeth and crew for a job well done.
