I was happy that Pita didn't die because killing a child really is an unspeakable act. I don't know if we would've been able to find any kind of relief after that. It's too bad the father died because Pita wasn't dead, but then again, good riddance.

It is a very minor point, but I found it rather unlikely that nobody complained about his making the parrot fly away, and then not letting the valuable and rather jolly bird back into the bedroom when it flew home again, which was not very simpatico on his part. But that was before he reformed and became less irritable. And why did he bathe in the pool a couple of times after being shot, making his wounds bleed more freely?

I cried when Creasy and Pita reunited and hugged but what really made it sad is that we knew he was going to die for her
