In this adaptation of Jane Austen's classic book, poverty-stricken Fanny Price (Billie Piper) is sent away to live with her wealthy uncle and aunt at Mansfield Park. As she struggles to adapt to her new lifestyle she begins to attract the attentions of suitors, learning about the sexual politics of high society along the way.
ok, Mansfield Park is my favorite one out of the Jane Austen movies

i mean its really cute,like they knowed each other for years and then in the end their friendship turns into love (ahh)

but that bit in the house and the bugs on the table was just horrible
thats all the negatives i have about this movie the rest is positive so i give it a ..
10/10 (i think that this version of the movie is better than the older one
Mansfield Park is the only Jane Austen novel I have not read, but I did enjoy this movie. I didn't even know there was a movie until today. I'm glad I took the time to watch it. Now my intent to read the novel has been renewed and inspired.
I rate it 4/5 could definitely have been more longer and engrossing. I admit I've never read the book but I'm sure it's much better. Nonetheless it is a good movie.
This is such a nice movie. I wasn't bored any second. Great action and drama at max. Haven't read the book yet, but I believe the movie could've been longer. It felt like a smoother version of "Gone by the Wind". I really loved it!
"Too brown"? Psh. Brown kids rock.. Why do you think the pasty white kids pay to go to the tanning bed..
I enjoyed the movie. I've heard one should watch the movie and read the book after so as not to be disappointed. That's what I'd recommend in this case.
not a bad movie if it was just a simple romantic film..but jane's stories are so much more than that! i liked the ending though..but yeah, something was missing, it wasnt like the other films based on her novels..i havent read the novel yet, but after watching the movie, i think i should..i think it'd be much more than what showed in this movie..3/5
Not bad but not great either. I have seen other versions that were better by far. The cast was not all that bad but it still came across as lackluster. If you have read the book or have never seen the film please do yourself the favor of watching another version before this one.
this one was the sweeter, more innocent version
the other one was a bit mysterious - this took me a bit to cozy to it - but i still enjoyed it - although i think if you're a JA fan you might be a little disappointed in its treatment of the book its based on. that's the MOVIES folks - what you can do.
just different actors and different acting and less catchy. all these re-makes of the book seem invaluable and seem to distortion the book.
the best film made after the book "Mansfield park" to my mind is the one since 199.
As a fan of Austen's timeless themes and heroine's I would say,this movie lacks some of the less than subtle comparisons made by Austen. In this story it is a common poor cousin who enters the upper classes as witness to the self indulgent behaviour of cousins and friends. The contrast of the poor having a stronger moral compass than that of the rich was a challenging theme when Austin wrote this novel. Moreover, the theme is relatable today. Further unlike Austens other works this one at least acknowledges the wars of Britian and slavery. Usually such topics are ignored by her. A good adeptation but not sufficient for studying the book.
