A media mogul acts as a guide to Death, who takes the form of a young man to learn about life on Earth and in the process, fall in love with his guide's daughter.
This dire remake of the 1934 movie 'Death Takes A Holiday' was nominated for 'Worst Remake' at the annual Razzie Awards and it's easy to see why. At a totally unnecessary three hours it drags terribly and features a truly awful turn from Brad Pitt. The fact he is starring alongside a legend like Hopkins only emphasises the deficiencies in his performance. It would appear that if Death came to live among us, he would do so in the form of a very bad actor. This part was way out of Pitt's league, leading to him thinking showing no human emotion means walking around like a plank of wood and saying 'peanut butter' in a stupid way.
this movie was surprisingly delightful. A bit long (3 hours) and gets a little slow but well worth the watch. I personally didn't like the ending, I mean it was still good, but it just didn't end how I wanted it to. 9/10
I can't believe how amazing Brad was in this movie. Turning off all emotions to play death. Wow. His voice made me shiver at times, as well as the eyes..creepy. One of the first few scenes made me laugh to death,

where he gets hit by a car.
Whenever there is a scene like that in a movie, I think of that moment.
The story is outrageous of course, but I enjoy watching it nontheless. And of course cry like a baby in the end.
I never think of Brad Pitt when I list my favorite actors and, in fact, I frequently say I am not a big fan of his.. And yet, when I see his movies, I can't stop myself from watching his every move with frightening intensity.. He's definitely got something.. "Death" is a terrifc role for him and he plays it with stilted perfection. Claire Forlani is beautiful and sweet and Anthony Hopkins is, as always, beyond reproach. Engaging storyline to be sure. If you don't find yourself rooting for "Death" by the end, seek immediate help.

Claire Forlani and Anthony Hopkins are exquisitely sublime in this movie..and well..even though I dont really like the Pitt..he has his shining moments too..especially the scene where [spoiler]Claire and Brad dances in the end, and he "tells" her his true identity and purpose[spoiler]..i mean..just the mimic on Claire Forlanis face..is priceless acting..
this is one of my absolute favorite movies! i love the way anthony hopkins is acting! he's a god! this movie is so emotional and by the way.. brad pitt is looking so damn sexy! joe black is definetly a great worth-watching movie.. not just for girls! really big cinema! 5/5

Well worth the time, great story and original. I have not sen anything like this since(or before for that matter). Will have to wait until a fresh link is posted until I can enjoy this again - won't watch half of a great film. 5/5 undoubtedly!!
IF IT DOESNT WORK OR ITS BLOCKED..REMOVE THE MOVIE PLEASE..dont get a persons hopes up to see something and its blocked from viewing.,..thats just cruel
what a beautiful film and great storie line.i love this movie and i remember going to the movie with my bro and friends to go see this movie.it is one of the best films.a great movie and a must see movie.
If there are any words to be said of this film, i don't know what they are. . . I guess that this film speaks entirely to the heart. It does not leave room for your head to criticize it. A truly excellent film, that I only wish i had seen sooner. If you cannot see the beauty in this story, then you cannot see beauty in your own life. . . Watch this film. You will love it!

i just don't know what it is but this movie is my favorite i don't understand y theres just no words that can describe it its an amazing work of art i can watch this a million times and not get sick of it even a little bit
