well i dont know bout anyone else but this really tugged at my heart strings..not usually up for upsetting n down n outfilms ..heard alot of bad feedback..but i thought hey why not..was completly surprised n ..dnt think iv weeped so much in ages..
It was so sad, and I hate sad movies because they make me cry, and this one definitely made me cry. But I loved it because the drama was so great, acting was great, everyone was good in it, filming was great. A very good drama, and a very emotional movie. In my opinion, a must see movie. It gets you in the heart like a good movie should.
Good performances, great cast and the title was perfect.
The story was intelligent. It wasn't too cliche or self righteous.
Very poignant and powerful.
I think Cameron Diaz did a good job, but my wife and I wished we could have seen an actress that was actually a Mom to give credibility to the role.
Ms. Diaz has been typcast so often in romantic roles that it took awhile for us to take that leap.
Just our opinion.
The part where Cameron hit Abigail in the face really pissed me off! I get that she's concerned about her daughter, but she's also neglecting another one in the process!!
This was a little difficult to watch. The reason..the actors and actresses were amazing. The emotions they expressed, at times, were almost tangible. The story itself is fairly predictable one, although the characters were perfectly cast, and and the filming of each viewpoint really gave the movie an emotional depth.
This is a really good movie. Make sure you have tissue on hand though. Very touching. This is one of Cameron's better films and the kids were excellent. Oh and the dog too.
i dont know what u people are talking about, im the biggest baby ever when it comes to movies and i didnt cry once didnt even get choked up.. this movie sucked, and i will never watch it again
I didn't find it got me emotional either.. Not that I'm a 'big baby', but I do tend to cry over sad movie moments too; but this movie didn't do anything for me. I'm not saying I didn't like it, I just didn't feel it brought the tears out in me. Maybe it's the fact that Cameron Diaz came off as a huge b!tch in it, I don't know - but I definetly didn't like her character.
Phenomenal movie. I loved that this movie dealt with real family issues. Broke out the tissues on this one. A definite must see 5 stars for the young actresses. Brilliant performances.
Ok so I read the book first and wasn't too keen on it, especially the ending. But I did cry a lot during the book. In comparison I did not like this film. Jesse was too different and Anna kinda was too.

where was the romance between Julia and Cambell? And I hated the ending, in the book, yeah it was sad but it was unexpected and ironic and great but here it was just predictable which made the film relatively boring as a whole. There wasn't much point to it.
Although the girl who played Kate was brilliant! :) I dunno..2/5. Honestly, I'd stick to the book.
