I had always saw that this movie was playing on tv but never felt like watching it until today, it was very good. I skipped out on a few parts to get ready and brush my teeth and stuff but fully the film wasn't bad. The acting is superb and the ending is just..well you need to watch this.

Another wonderful film from Clint Eastwood, brilliantly directed. Powerful storyline with an unexpected twist, and brilliant acting by Sean Penn, Tim Robbins and Kevin Bacon. Must see..5/5 stars.
such as the actual killers, they didn't seem capable of doing anything like what there suppose to have and had no motive, also in the recorded 911 call there are two voices heard, so why was the one kid pretending to be a mute?
i am not italian but only a person who is Italian would understand this movie fully.

We can understand Jimmy was a hardcore Italian because main character is catholic, talks about disowning daughter if she married wrong man. The daughter talks about moving to vegas because of her Dad. But Jimmy hates being known to be weak so his daughter doesn't tell him. This guy was a hardcore Italian except Eastwood was not that great of director. If Eastwood kept Sean Penn to his role as hardcore Italian instead of this senitive and hardcore Italian then he might have won Oscar.
They kill innocent people all the time back in the day and it's being at the wrong place at the wrong time. I am not supporting eastwood's beliefs but this is how it went down. Italians hate being weak and they create gangs to elimate their opponents that's how it went.
Awesome movie! This is a slow burning thriller that kept me intrigued throughout. Very well written deep story,top cast & some of the best acting I've ever seen. For me, the thing that really makes this movie is the directing; well done Clint!! If you haven't watched this yet, then please do so, you won't regret it (unless your looking for cheap thrills/action). A solid 9/10.
The acting was great and the film was good. But for me it wasnt all that, i didnt cry but around the ending it was kinda messed up and thats when i started to get emotional.

When we find out that after Jimmy killed Dave, the 2 kids where the ones who killed Katie
this movie is intense to say the least. emotionally moving. the acting and directing are superb. the plot is unusual with a surprising twist. having a great sense of realism in it makes it all the better. 9/10.
I read the book first and was blown away by it. I was hoping that Clint Eastwood would do right by it and he did...magnificently. This film is powerful and pushes the right buttons. Sean Penn was good, Kevin Bacon was better, but Tim Robbins did an awesome job. A must see. 5/5 stars
This movie is the most incredible movie I have ever seen!! This movie will never get old, Sean Penn is amazing, as well as the rest of the cast. I really dont think it gets any better than this :)
First off I must say what a brilliant director Clint Eastwood is.
I had no idea it was one of his films so it was a pleasant surprise to see his name pop up first in the credits after watching such a superb movie.
This is a very deep and dark story and the entire cast executed it perfectly.
Tim Robbins was outstanding as usual and Sean Penn was at his usual best.
I think Kevin Bacon is one of those guys who's so underrated although he never fails to give a decent performance. As for Larry Fishburn; He's one of those guys who's so overrated but also never fails to impress.
It's a shocking, saddening and worrying tale but captivating and intriguing with a very clever twist.
I really enjoyed it and I am giving it a cool 9/10
But 5 stars for good measure. * * * * *
The acting in this was incredibly well done by all, and the characters real and believable! The storyline was one that had me hooked from start to finish! 5/5! And another for my playlist!
