I watched this a while back, and maybe I wasn't playing attention close enough or something because it totally went over my head, anyone care to summarize for me in a message? :)
I think this was life as we know it, rather than as we see it in so many other movies!! If you can't understand the ending then I'm afraid you don't know life..10/10
This is, rarely for the Coens, an adaptation and the ending is completely faithful to the one in the book. A lot of people are critical of the ending, and that's understandable, but really it summed up what the movie was trying to say. Jones's narration is leading up to it from the start,

the world is full of people who do terrible things, and many just walk away from them. That's life, people don't always get their comeuppance. I think the realism and the fact that it didn't have your standard predictable 'showdown' ending is partly what earnt it so many accolades.
Javier Bardem is just an inspired piece of casting. Thoroughly deserved his Oscar for an incredible and genuinely unnerving performance.
What the hell did I just see!?!? This deserves the most anti-climatic movie ever award. What-the-hell is the ending all about!?!? People this is just another case of Hollywood telling us that something is fantastic, and then a bunch of sheep jumping on the bandwagon. And to think of everything I could have done while wasting my time with this sheet(wink-wink) I've had better looking bowel-movements thank this movie. Oh, and that goes for "There Will Be Blood" too (yeah, that's right There will be blood, i'm coming for you to. Ugh!
I agree Fargo is the better movie, but as for the rest of it go and read my response to you in There Will Be Blood as your post here is a virtual carbon copy of that one.
I think the concept was great, but the execution was crap. I liked the perspective and the vantage point that they were doing the story line from at first, but by the end of the movie I was begging for death. They made it to tough to follow.

Exactly!! The concept was good. i mean it had been done before. The consequences of greed. But all that action and suspense only for it to get lazy and have a piece of Sheet(wink-wink) ending. I mean really, WTF!!
Excellent except for the unsatisfactory or rather unsatisfying ending - but then, in real life stories don't always get tied up neatly. Javier Bardem is a most impressive villain - a relentless nemesis. I had never seen him before, and thought he must be Oliver Reed's son, since he so closely resembles that late British actor who specialised in similar menacing rôles. Although Spanish,he even sounds almost British, at least in the midst of the Texas drawls he does. Tommy Lee Jones' part was one he has often played before, and as usual he was quite convincing. I hope not too many real crooks were inspired by seeing all the nasty things you can do with a cylinder of compressed air! (8/10).
Perfect. A well-crafted piece of Americana. This film certainly isn't for everyone but if you like Pulp Fiction or Fargo, you gotta see it. 10/10-no question.
This film built up suspense really well, the characters were the main reason for this. The villian was very scary, he kind of reminded me of the Terminator, nothing was going to stop him. I was a bit disapointed with the ending though. It felt like it was a bit lazy, however that is the Coen brothers way of doing it. Very good film, i would probably watch it again. 4/5
I'm blown away having watched that. Javier Bardem was incredible, best acting performance I have seen in a long while. Very reminiscent of Fargo in it's structure and interwoven plot. What can I say.. this will leave you fascinated and awestruck. My head is actually buzzing, I think I need to go and lie down for a while.
5 of 5 stars, yes this movie isnt for everybody, but its a classic like pulp fiction, comments are all good, i dont understand why this isnt rated 5 of 5, does it got to be BAMBI and OLD yELLER, or what people?
master piece i cant understand the rating the killer here is the best thing since hitcher by rutger hauer not the re-make rubbish and people who did not get the film it was simply about greed deadly sin i believe
The best villain to emerge in recent memory. A less sophisticated but equally disturbed sado masochistic Hannibal. Slow but deliberate and great acting. "Call it in the air.Heads or tails" . That concept is simple yet very sinister. Must see!!
I watched this movie once today and then had to watch it again tonight.
Everything about this movie from cinematography to sound effects (hardly any music) to acting to storyline, completley enthralled me. I see other folks thought it was boring, but that just isn't a word I'd even consider using in describing this thing. Lots of symbolic and metaphoric meaning in much of it, but I've always been a sucker for such things.
Anton "Sugar" is going on my all time greatest villans list.
good movie but it leaves u not knowing if somethings happen or not,and there is no part 2.other than how it ends i liked it but the hole time i was watching it i couldnt wait to see how it turns out but then it just dont..turn out in any way7 out of ten
Thought i was going to watch an epic movie but it wasn't,it bored the hell outta me..nothing comes together so don't look for clarity in the conclusion.would NOT watch this again
