Excellent storyline along with an excellent cast at their best. You feel you could actually know these people in real life - very realistic and beleiveable. A true saying 'you never what goes on behind closed doors'.
but the boy knew what he was doing. Come on he is 15 not 8. that old hag really needs to belong in a mental hospital or needs theraphy. Under a different mood or tone of the movie she would be scary, anyways if a teacher is that good looking than so be it.
Terrific original film. If you like a script that makes you think, watch it. When you really feel a strong emotion toward a character it means the writing and acting is working greatly.
another oustanding performance from ms. dench, she plays a role you hate and feel sympathy for all in one,

the affair with an under aged schoolboy is totaly wrong, somehow the film manages to give some understanding to the uncontroled passions on all sides, though i suspect had it been a male teacher less sympathy would have been created
gripping narrative from the twisted works of a sad diary with revelations displaying how pathetic frustrations and loneliness can take the mind,no matter how distructive. 10/10
This was worth the watch! I didn't like the streaming..if it was broken down into parts it wouldn't 'stick' so much, and especially at the most intense parts! I love Blanchett and Judy, it's wonderful to see them both on the screen at the same time, it's magic the way they colaborate between each other. But wow, Judy was really the bad person in this one. It set the tone on many things: moralism, honesty, betrayal, lust, control.. very dark but entertaining to the very end. A must see if you're looking for something cerebral. 5/5 stars.
