sorry could only watch the first 5 mins and if a movie do not grab me with in the frist 10 mins i wont watch 5 mins was all i could watch ill give it anther go one day ( i hope lol)
That vikings killed that senselessly, I mean, why not take most of the people as slaves, that you could understand. And it's not like the Indians had all that much a viking would plunder. Plus they looked stupid in their gear, as if they would moved around with all that heavy junk on all the time. Nope, I'm not believing this. I got more out of Conan the Barbarian, I'm serious.
No one ever kills senselessly. When the vikings killed they killed to teach their opponents the futility of opposition.
AFAIK they never took slaves. They were pillagers and raiders for the most part. Slaves would've slowed them down and prevented them from pillaging the same spot in years to come. I can't really see slavery fitting into their culture and religion, either.
its fiction its a movie. not ment to be beliveable. make belive, pretend. conan the barbarian was jest a movie. it is the year 2009. we live in a modern society. we have laws and pay taxes. you need to get out more if you belive this movies are real.

this could of been so much better than it was ..this is a one time watch only for me , the picture and sound quality was awesome on one of the links i watched it on ..just a shame the plot and story and acting couldnt match that quality

I was saving some war movies on my playlists. I'm so glad I clicked it.
I wanted to see if it's in any good at ALL. So far so good. I said that because
I'm not able to finish it yet. Megavideo has limited time & I've got 20 more minutes to wait. Youku, Tuduo & Milledrive won't let me open it. Apparently because I live in a selective region that is not allowed! This movie is definitely going on my playlists. I like it so much. I would love to watch it again some day!
Pathfinder to me as an amazing beautiful photograph, the story in great!
yes is maybe not be anyone cup of tea but I like this type of epic, history, fantasy kind of movie!!

This film is based on the norwegian movie "Veiviseren", which roughly means Pathfinder. It was nominated in the Oscar category "best-foreign-movie" in 1987 or 88.
The script was based on an old sami legend set around the year 1200.
This movie is a very bad remake/spinoff.
There are so many logical and historical blunders I don't even bother mention them all..
One thing tho':
For anyone who thinks vikings ever looked remotely as they did in this movie, pick up a book and study. The costumes looked absolutely ridiculous!
To mention one thing: vikings never ever had horns on their helmets :)
This was just a stupid Hollywood spin on vikings :-D
One more thing: The first europeian who crossed the ocean to america was a viking - Leif Erikson about 450 years before Colombus :)
The Director did a good job directing the camera man, and using the Backlight effect well. It was definitely pleasurable to watch.
The costumes were absolutely amazing!! Especially the Viking's costumes. They made it look very "real". No complains there..
The Blue-screen effect was good. Not great, but still very good..
The music was this movie's strongest point with no doubt!! Composition was truly beautiful, and I was amazed with the perfect timing and use of soundtrack throughout the entire film..
The script had a flaw, however. The dialogue itself was fine.. But the problem was in the Modern American dialect. The idea of watching people wearing Ancient clothing, living in ancient times speaking MODERN American English was just weird. They should have either used a different language like in Apocalypto, or add an accent to the English at the very least!!
I thought the performance was great. 2 or 3 of the casting members weren't that good, but the main characters were all convincing actors (and believe me, my standards are NOT low ones!)
As for the Historical inaccuracy, I don't think it's fair to consider it in judging this movie. This isn't Troy, or 300, or a Christopher Columbus movie.. It's not even a movie about the Viking!! It's true they're in it, but the story is about that man.. Totally fictional, totally made up, and totally NOT meant to be historic. So why use history to judge a fictional movie?!
All in all, the movie was good. Enjoyable, entertaining, and could be watched more than once or twice.. I give it 8.5/10 and recommend it to everyone..
