This movie was made as a Double Bill with the other movie "Death Proof". In america they showed both the movies at the same time but here in the Uk, only Death Proof got to the theatres. PT went straight to the DVDs. Quintin and the other director decided to make a movie with 60s70s theme. Death Proof was damn good so how'll this be?
I love zombie movies, the blood, gore, action, thrills, it's all dope. Rodriguez does it again. I remember watching Grindhouse at the theater when it first came out, one of the best movie experiences ever. I give this movie a 10/10
Not sure about the whole retro style of film as the quality these days is way way greater visually (could have faded to modern maybe part way through) but it did suit the film or at the very least not take anything away

Because from the trailers at the start to the scratchy film effect to the 70's/80's horror music, it aims to recreate a 70's/80's horror cinema experience for the viewer.
Personally I loved the scratchy, melting, bubbling film effect, I felt it added alot to the whole feel of the film.
Its incredible how you manage to miss the point every time irishdaddy! Do you do it on purpose, c'mon, do you?
The acting in and whole feel of Planet Terror is supposed to be cheesy, its in the style of a cheesy 70's/80's horror flick. I guess you will also probably have missed this but.. different ppl like different things ; ) the "no credibility" you speak of is strictly your own deluded view.
Planet Terror is more credible than that 2.1/2 hour mind numbing Baysplosion you defend like a mother defends a wounded child, T:ROTF sums up everything that is most tedious, crass and despicable about modern Hollywood. Planet Terror makes fun of itself and the old horror movies it mirrors. I must assume you missed that too.
FIRST OF ALL, I AM A HORROR FAN, I LOVE TERROR. BUT I DONT KNOW WHY THIS MOVIE DID NOT LIKE ME AT ALL, I GUESS THE IDEA WAS TO MAKE A "HORROR/ZOMBIE/COMEDY" FLICK.. MAYBE THEY WANTED TO MAKE AN "OLD SCHOOL MOVIE" OR SOMETHING.. I DONT KNOW.. I JUST DONT LIKE IT AT ALL.. AS SIMPLE AS IT IS. 1/5
It was just Quentin being artsy.Sorry you did not like it because I loved it.You say your a horror fan but are you a Quentin Territino fan?Maybe that made a difference.
I'm a fan of both outsidewavelength.. I totally agree with you, and I loved this horror movie and Quentin's other movies. I noticed DJF has Micheal Myers as his icon photo.. hoenstly.. I have never enjoyed a Halloween movie.. never found a single one of them scary.
It's not a serious film or as good as dawn of dead but if you take it with a pinch of salt and like a bit of comedy in a zombie movie then it's worth watching it 3 stars rated.
this movie is awesome. Robert Rodriguez is a legend at film making. 4.5/5.. machette is actually a real movie by Robert Rodriguez that is coming out in 2010..
Definatle the most rediculous, insane movie i have ever seen. Started off weird, progressively got worse, last half an hour was hillarious. But you know what..
I loved it. Crappy acting (intentional) crappy camera (intentional) i think your getting the picture here. Very very funny film, unlike anything you will have ever seen before. 7/10

The sex scene, when she lays back and her wooden table leg points up into the air had me howling with laughter. Inspiring stuff lol
I must say that this is one of the coolist zombie movies ever!I loved the cinematography,the"previews"and of course the zombies and heros.If you love offbeat kinda retro/stylized unique horror flicks than this is for you.It is not scary but alot of fun!
