After seeing this film I'm really looking forward to reading the book. Christina Ricci did a superb job playing Elizabeth Wurtzel, a very realistic character who went through a period in her life that I'm sure many can relate to.. the emotional rollercoaster of life (Lots of stress included). I enjoyed watching this because it was all was so believable.
One of my favorite movies, I watch it every time I feel nostalgic. But instead of pulling me down, it actually builds me up, inspire me to do something and stop whining. E.Wurtzel is a great example of how a person can get lost in their own thoughts and emotions, which I think is a great problems nowadays. Depression hits almost every one, however prozac does not solve anything. Just go watch it.10/10
This film has all the emotions raw and laid out there for all to witness. At times
too painful to watch. Good performances from the cast. I am glad it offered some hope at the end, or it would have been to painful a film to watch. Do check it out! 8.5/10
i guess it is a really good movie but after reading the comments i expected her depression to be a lot more serious i mean everybdy goes thru what she did almost nothing really happened to her that doesnt happen to most of us
I FIND THIS MOVIE VERY INTERESTING AND INSPIRING.. I WENT THROUGH A SIMILAR DEPRESSION LIKE HER (NO DRUGS INVOLVED THOUGH).. HER PERFORMANCE WAS EXCELLENT..
On of the best movies I've seen. It's a true story and I guess that's what I liked the most..
Christina Ricci done a great great job acting in this one. The acting is really good.

I have to agree. This movie says a lot for people who struggle with some sort of Depression. Being Bipolar is hard enough. I live everyday taking pills and have for 4 years now. I still feel like I am someone else. With all this said I can totally relate with this movie and I enjoyed watching it even though there were so many links to go through. I have the book reserved and can't wait to read it.

i have just finished the book and was surprised how the film captured the darkness of the book so well.
the book is quite hard going but well worth a read if u get the chance.
also was impressed with jason biggs in the first serious role i have seen him in. 5/5
That was All her parents fault,parents let this be a lesson dont play emotional tug of war with your children cuz this is the end result,kids need to be kids not dragged in adult situations,its totally sad when ur hate for one another is stronger than the love for ur child
so glad i'm through and past those years! good film and as ever christina ricci is fab, i think it's a bit dated now but still definately worth watching - 4/5
