Than this one which is the third Punisher movie.
I personally liked the second film with Tom Jane in it because it seemed more realistic. This one was pretty awesome too. I guess it just depends on which comics series you read and liked.
No Sympathy, Like The True Punisher. Emotion Only For The Innocent Killed.
This movie here actually told the story of his family, perhaps not clearly but atleast it did so 90%. His family infact was caught in the middle of a gang war while on a picnic, due to Franks previous Military training (which he was discharged from cause he couldn't stand how Innocent people were being treated (he was never a cop).
THOMAS JANE WAS NOT THE PUNISHER!
he didn't cut it at all! this guy here in this movie almost completely suited Frank Castle! He is the live copy of the comics (coming from a fan of the orignal comics of The Punisher. the orignal was a bit better. But the early 2000's punisher was PATHETIC! was a good watch don't get me wrong, a good movie but just wasn't the punisher. only part of the early 2000 punisher that was punisher was at the end when the guy gets the blade shoved through his jaw into his mouth. read the comics then was the movie THEN comment on it.! This is an excellent replica of The Punisher
this was a horrible attempt at a reboot. acting is awful, action is 2nd rate and ray Stephenson does not fit the bill for the punisher. sorry very disappointed 0/10
Tom Jane and the director from the first reboot didn't like the idea of having characters like Jigsaw and Micro, and for good reason, they wanted it to be more dark and emotional. That's why the first reboot was so good, but the movie company wanted to add more of that crap in, so Jane and the director decided not to do a sequel. After that the company decided that they would just do another reboot which is this one, War Zone. Didn't like it, Tom Jane brought so much more emotion to the screen, along with the other actors. This one reminded me of the last batman movie with Mr. Freeze. Seemed like they just wanted a lot of violence and action instead of a storyline, which they definitely had! Good at parts along that line. Still, I'd like to see Tom Jane back on screen as The Punisher, he was great!
this movie was awesome, just a gory as the SAW movies, and action packed, my only question, how does Castle get places so fast? I never seen him drive, take a cab, ride the bus,nothin, he just runs everywere lol other than that, great movie 9/10
i gotta admit, after reading the comments on this film i thought it was going to be crap, but honestli, its ace, no lie, this man has a higher kill count than rambo!
worth the watch if you like blood guts lots of bullets, and a violent angry man
I thought it was pretty good. Lots of blood gore and action, very fast paced, the beginning was especially good. The story line was nothing special, but I didn't expect it to be.
nothin special about the story and u cant call this a sequel cause it didnt have any conection with the first one except the character name,it reminded me of a batman but with gore gore and gore.Well just dont get deep into it and if u like the gore action movies than you will enjoy it.
hated this movie.. ok thomas jane was a really good punisher. this guy wasnt. if you cant get the original cast for the sequal dont do it or have it be a crummy straight to dvd movie.. this movie fucused more on blood and gore then story and when he flashbacked to his family's death it wasnt even what happened in the first movie.. they shouldnt have had him be frank castle instead maybe a new wanna be punisher like a copycat. bad bad bad

IDK why they would make a sequel to the Punisher movie and not even pick up where the first one left off first of all.
But that aSide, I thought it was kinda "action movie corny." Right in the same ilk of Transporter or Crank. The action scenes were nice, but the plot was crap. Good solid D+ if U ask me. I was way let down after seeing this in comparison to the first Punisher.
But the movie wasnT tourture hints "better than a fork in the eye" but by no means great.
It's not a seqeul it's a reboot, and this was based off the MAX series which is supposed to be like what they did in this movie, except with better story. Me I give it a 9/10. Story could've been better, but the action was fast and intense. And it was a true adaptation of the comics, a movie that was more for the fans then critics. They picked the best actor for the punisher this time, Tom Jane was almost nothing like the comic book character, where as Ray Stevenson not only looked like the punisher, but he seriously pulled his character off real good.
i totally agree yniboy!! I've been a Punisher fan since way back and this was much more true to the comic than the first attempt(which wasn't horrible,just way off).
ray stevenson really captured how hardcore the Punisher can be.
definitely worth a watch !
