If you have something against GREAT acting performances, inspired casting and stark realism ( I swear the entire movie plays like a wedding video ) then Rachel Getting Married may not be something you'd want to invest time in, just yet.
This movie dragged on. There were lots of parts that needed to be edited out. For an example every, speech at the rehearsal wedding was in it, it just seemed to drag on. The camera work was shaky (could of been the effect they were after). This looks like it was shot on low budget. Main thing that lets the movie down is the editing. It was as thou they were trying to make it so everyone that was a extra in the movie appeared at least once, doesnt work well if thats what they were aiming for.
Other than the above it had a good story line and acting was great.

I wasnt dissapointed with this movie at all. i loved ann in this movie and could really relate to rachel, because i myself am an older sibling of another who has a problem that requires their parents' full attention. all in all a true to life movie.
If you think your family is unique this will surely change your outlook.
We are all here to learn and deal with life - so get on board and be more attentive to other around you.
Ann Hathaway is her usual fabulous self - great acting. 10/10
i can see why Hathaway was nominated for oscar,it is a sad but also good movie ,although i don't like the fact that for a oscar the nominated movies are usually some strong drama .
very sad movie. family defenitly needs emotional therapy. sister getting married seems very selfish with sharing dad with sister who has a lot of problems. the mom also has issues with the dtr she blames 4 all the problems and death in her life. thank god that through all this family drama she remains drug free and endures
the longest movie ever..it was boring and i couldnt wait until it finished..complete waste of time..the music was terrible the story was told before, the only good thing was ann's performance it was phenomenal. other than that i wanted to shoot my brains out!
I agree. Took me most of the day to get through it. Could only watch so much at a time then needed a break. Seems like there was absolutely no editing during this film. Way too many useless scenes! Absolutely grueling to sit through.
god its was soo boring i couldnt even finish watching it anne hathaway was alrite in it but kinda annoying well her character was. really dont recommend only if you u are really really really really bored.
The music in this is SUPERB!! They did a wonderful job combining different flairs and styles together creating such a beautiful sound! I'm definately going to buy it :D
This was so amazing! I really loved it..the documentary style puts you right in the middle of everything so you really feel like you're there and part of the family. I sobbed my little eyes out, it was really moving. It's basically got everything you'd want in a great movie: a good plot line, depth, great characters, great actors, moments that rip your heart out, and comedic relief. Everyone can relate to this movie
A little slow at times, yes, but overall really good film. Definitely not conventional, which is refreshing. I didn't get the whole dishwasher loading obsession.. seems like a pretty boring family. Anne Hathaway was terrific, although I don't really love her in these dark roles. A little depressing. I think I'm gonna go watch The Princess Diaries now.
im glad to see ann in this type of role, its different and she did a good job. i cant relate to something like this because nothing like that ever happened to me, but its a really good plot tho i got bored at half of it. just ok
Next: be in the mood for this movie. Enough said there about that.
Not just like being a fly on the wall. It was like actually being a family member or a family friend at the wedding weekend, thanks to a clever filming style. And within the framework of the script the freedom to ad-lib some also seemed to be part of the magic as well - a possibility anyway. Ann Hathaway - I've never seen her like this. If she wasn't in the running for an academy award of some kind she should have been. I actually forgot that she was Ann during most of this film. Due to the subject matter I cannot say that I liked it - but it was compelling and very well made (true of so many other well made films).
This movie was pretty good, having had a sybling who had a drug probem I can relate to Rachel. However, if you can't relate to this movie I can see how it would be hard to understand. All in all I think Anne Hathaway did a good job with her character. 4/5
The storyline was pretty good and this movie would have been more than tolerable and I would have recommended it, if it weren't for the awful music score. The entire movie is full of horrible annoying screeching music! It will give you a headache, literally.

Also the dishwasher filling contest is too long, serious overkill on family bonding.
Just cheezy like no other. I don't recommend anyone watch this stupid movie.
