This is an awesome movie.. But you have to be patient, and let it unfold. If you're expecting Face/Off, go watch that. Culturally, cinematically, theatrically, this movie is wonderful. However, idiots hate it, so if you're an idiot please watch something else..
highly influential who dunnit seen from the viewpoints of 5 different characters including bizarrely the dead mans ghost. this is classic arthouse cinema, a must see for any self respecting film fan.
A great film. A film I've wanted to watch for a while now. Kurosawa came to visit my country once and that's when I first heard about him. Of course knowing Japanese and hence not having to depend on the subtitles was a plus point here for me. I found this to be a very interesting concept. After hearing what the guy

who found the husband had supposedly witnessed, I began to doubt the testimonies of all the three parties involved. It seemed like they said what they did according whatever doesn't make them look bad/coward (as appropriate). After all, it seemed like they were accounting to some legal body? Anyways, a must watch for any classic lovers out there! It was especially interesting to see how the only people who were shown and spoke were the six main characters and the priestress? woman.
Another Kurosawa classic. The film has a great quality about it. Theres really not a lot going on in this picture but once I was into it I had to see it through. The message of the film becomes clear only at the end. If you liked this(or if you did'nt)you should check out "Yojimbo" and it's sequel "Sanjuro". Also vintage Akira Kurosawa films set in feudal Japan, also starring Toshiro Mifune, but more fast paced.
