well, i saw red dawn like 10 years ago and was amazed.
watched it again and was so disappointed..
its truly a us hollywoodpropaganda back from coldwar,story is a bit cheesy and sometimes ridiculous.acting most of the time poor. idea is ok - fits in the time of 84
This movie is ridiculous, the whole story is, Russia couldn't just invade America without one hell of a battle and all the American army would pin the invasion in. The idea that a few kids with guns could beat a invading army is laughable and looks to me like pure propaganda.
There is alot wrong with this movie, the action, some of the acting, the story and above all it is boring.
America doesn't win wars (Vietnam, Iraq,Afghanistan..) except for in Hollywood. To enjoy this movie you must leave your brain at the door or just be a dumb trigger happy American.
WOW! My first time watching this flick and I gotta say, This movie was awesome. I give props to any movie that can stir me up cause I'm kinda desensitized. and you gotta love Patrick Swayze. I didn't even know he was in this until I seen him. and Charlie Sheen. I love those guys. They play in awesome movies.
This is excellent & great movie to be watching,worth watching,recommed others to watch,has great story line,and good actors.Shows how people even
teenagers band together ,fighting urban tactic's warfare against enemies.Despite overwhelming odds against them,it was well worthwhile watching again.
MGM has announced that Red Dawn will be remade "keeping in mind the post-9/11 world that we're in". Dan Bradley has been announced as the director with Carl Ellsworth writing the updated screenplay
one of my all time faves for nostalgia but as far as someone coming clean into the movie I'm not sure they'd get the same thing out of it. Everyone should see it once though.
I have been watching alot of Charlie Sheen movies lately. I honestly just wanted to watch a movie about the end of the world and found this. I started watching it not knowing Charlie was in this flick. What a treat, this was a great movie. It also has Patrick Swayze in it. 4/5
i think i'm the only one on this site that didn't love this film..i guess it's because i wasn't around then and don't understand the mindset of the time
Very much a sign of the times cold-war era film. With a very definite pro USA ending :p
The only thing I thought was a bit silly was the (ironic) mickey mouse enemy troops, I'd think in a real occupation they'd be alot more ruthless than they were.
