This movie was twisted, and often uncalpable. Although based on a true story it leaves many quewstions unanswered and is a bit unsettling, in tone and content. It just made me feel uneasy, and I worked Crime scenes so I thought this would be great..I may watch again to get a better grip. I feel like I must've missed something..scattered Direction..I'd say.. 7/10
A very disturbing film but entertaining. There was several sex scenes and some nudity which was handled very well. Because of its content I would only recommend this film to someone with an open mind.

The end of the film was disturbing where the mother and son had sex and then the son killing his mother was disturbing but had to be shown to complete the film.

sorry to burst ya bubble but from other comments i read not even close to spoiling (Solataium and toddles) and i was able to figure out that was going to happen and i havent even watched it.it is about a crazy murder so u would assume she would die some point thru the movie..and from all the disturbings and yucks and sick s that people wrote i knew there would be
I really don't know how to respond to this movie.To my understanding it was based on true facts,but it was kind of disturbing,but with that too it was worth the watch.3/5
I am phased by the horrors of the human condition. that day to day person to person blood to blood immoral insanity..so it is for that reason I have not watched the film, and refuse to look up the family..having said that: Let us pray.
I also read about this family and the murder of the mother. I don't think the movie gave a clear picture of the mother's character and the things she did to her son. It hinted at some things but not why. Yes it was a strange and disgusting relationship, but it was true, and the movie would have been better if they delved a bit deeper into the characters. 3/5
Thoughtful Look At A Decadent And Decayed Lifestyle
Excellent acting, certainly shows that money doesn't buy happiness and certainly not sanity. A look into a world so unlike most of ours -- thank goodness!
This movie was not that bad. There wasn't really any nudity and the mother son thing..well if you read the comments you know what happened. The ending was sad only because this is a true story..but maybe i am so desensitized that this just rolls off my back. I dunno.3/5
not a film for the faint hearted. i have a pretty high shock threshold but this movie took me to the limits.

i found the sex scene towards the end unnecessarily graphic; it literally made me wince. i would of found it slightly more tasteful if they of just alluded to the incestuous acts between mother and son
. i dont believe a shocking film is automatically a good film. nevertheless, i rate this movie 3/5 as it is worth a watch
After reading about this family I find the movie wasn't half as shocking as their real life. The fact that this disturbed and disgusted so many film goers is a tribute to it's excellence.
This film is moving, course, passionate, sensual, and dramatic. It's pain moves through the film like a persons shoes on reverberating tiles. Constant, and in depth it takes you to an orgasmic conclusion that , as in avid watcher I didn't expect ,or even think of. Best film I've seen since Boys Don't Cry.
the kind of thing that sticks in your mind for awhile and you wish you hadn't watched the film. I like Juliette Moore but wish she'd stay away from junk like this. I always wonder what the kids/family members of these actors think when they watch their people in films like this. Yuck.
This is the second film I have seen in the past few weeks. Both were films about Americans living abroad..Is this a common thing there? I watched the whole movie and it was disturbing and had no story line that I could see. I gave it a 2/5.
