Thought it was cliche due to the fact it shared the same underlying message as every american war movie, which ironically is the same stuff the general american public crave to see. Their people the heros once again.. as usual in every war film out of hollywood, and although its probably one of the few movies that show one of the central characters a bit more realistically to be a coward (ie. the corporal/ interpretator) as he didnt become a big cliched hero, you still can't help but hate him lol!! overall, im sorry all those americans out there, but i just cant enjoy the same self promotion that all american movies provide. ps. plz don't trash me i'm just having my opinion, if u don't care what i think then just accept my point of view and leave it at that.. otherwise it quite clear u do indeed care what i think. half a star out of 5 im afraid.
Great movie,seen & watched this 4 times,rate it 10 of 10.War Is Hell.Great action ,combat scenes,its very surreal to what actual-combat actions happened in WW ll with all Soldiers during this time of WW-ll.Just great.

A great perfomance. One of the best WW2 movies ever made. Brutally intensified situations. A brilliant movie, a must see. I rate this movie 10/10..check it out!!

tom hanks is superb in this film. the first 20 mins or so is how a ww2 grunt would have seen the omaha beach landings in his eyes. the camera work is fantastic, down and dirty, dirt and grit landing on the lense of the camera was very realistic and really puts you in the soldiers boots! i loved this movie 5/5 all the way.
Might be the best WWII movie ever made. The detail in the special effects was incredible, it puts you right in the battle. Tom Hanks was perfect. Rate: 10/10
I think one of the biggest compliments a movie can recieve is when it has been more than ten years since its release, yet remains to have a quality equal to those being released presently, and even better than some. Of course the acting in this movie is excellent, but even the graphics are still yet percieved as very well produced, even though it's 11 years old. And the most important part, the story/plot was very fluid and able to keep the audiences attention throughout. Definitely a classic.
